Wonder if you would have posted that if his BS had gone unanswered.

actually my post wasn't about his or yours. It was about the last couple pages of "you got more! No you got more" bs. Thanks for asking

A CS post rubbing in it in to a guy just hoping to still be able to work where he lives after this cluster is done was BS and required a response, in my opinion.

I like the Delta logo on the tail, this side pointing to the northwest on the compass rose...

Try again, as the raw numbers are irrelevant. Figure the number of retirements based on PERCENTAGE of the pilots in each group. You will find the number very simiar to the relative seniority hit that NWA guys take in 10 years. Most NWA guys take at least a 12-15 percent hit starting 10 years out, and for some, it's much higher and is virtually unrecoverable. Even the younger guys wind up 400-500 PERCENT worse off at retirement (going from top 50 to top 500).

The only way to compensate this reduction in pay and QoL is get while the gettin' is good and grab what you can, when you can. Anyone know what the 76 -400 looks like in ATL? Or how about MD88 Captain? I got to maximize money and it's an easier commute....

But because it skewed the ratios so badly, he instituted a 20 year fence off of each airline's pre-merger equipment.

ALPA never...I repeat NEVER had equipment based ratios in its policy. Not now, not ever.

Yup. BOTH sides are definitely guilty of that.

Carl, I know you know that this is incorrect. As a former Western Pilot I can assure you that it is incorrect. I was well versed on ALPA merger policy in 1986. DOH was one aspect that could be considered in a merger among about 6 areas. The change was actually made in 1991 when DOH was removed as one of the items that could be considered. The other items remained essentially if not exactly the same. DOH was never ALPA merger policy ever!! It was a factor that could be used until 1991. Had it been ALPA merger policy there would never have been a arbitration with NWA and Republic. It would have gone just like AFA mergers. Compile the list and done with no negotiations. The same thing would have applied in the Delta and Western merger.
