You will probably like MSP better. The hotel van I saw dropping pilots off at the sim building had an ad for an Outback Steakhouse at the hotel. That beats Mexico Joes to me, unless of course its Karaoke Night at the bar. More to do around there also when your waiting for that late sim with the Mall of America down the road. But you probably wouldn't like the trip if was at the Super Bowl because it comes with a check ride at the end. Brother, I hear ya.

If you're talking about the Clarion Airport in MSP - the Outback is lovely, but that hotel is one of the biggest POS hotels I've ever stayed at in my life. At my old company, I used to avoid the short MSP overnights like the plague because of that hotel. Not that the training hotel in ATL is any great shakes, but it's better than the place I think you're referring to!

The training hotel in ATL is a dump. The Italian restaurant next door is great however.

Actually, there are two training hotels. The other one is measurably nicer.

The vans serve both hotels , so you can go back and forth or to the MoA, but both are walkable during the two weeks of Summer.

Doesn't bother me a bit. I am from Wisconsin, so I am used to it. It is the wife that might not leave the comfort of her bed. Those Texans are so picky about the weather.
