New must be in ATL tonight, we were being vectored behind a 9 for a visual to 9R and we hit the 9s wake and got our butts handed to us. If I wasn't so big I would curled up in the fetal position. The only person I know that could kick 135 peoples butts without even knowing it is New.
On that note saw my first 753 in the ATL. http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/a...oopyHeader.jpg I don't know why I keep posting Snoopy. I just look at him though and start laughing. |

Well, they are trying to regulate that now too....."April 13 (Bloomberg) -- Two Democratic U.S. senators introduced legislation that would ban airlines from charging fees for bags carried aboard planes one week after Spirit Airlines Inc. became the first carrier to announce a charge."

Heyas,
The other thing to consider if we "pushback" is: 1) We might be able to make a deal rather than go to court. 2) If this goes unchecked, the next thing the DOT will do is start confiscating slots outright in the name of "competition". This is barely one step away from where they are now. Nu

It was a rough day the last time I went through ATL, ftb (a few days ago). *It probably wasn't our wake you went through, it was all the crap that was following us around. * *There was a monkey wrench involved in every leg. *We made it though. *:) *

The only reason they are making noise about his is that they want to make sure the taxman gets his cut. Right now, fees are not taxable.

Take your DEET with you. I was sitting by the pool in the late afternoon and heard a mosquito-from the way I jumped you would have thought it was a rattlesnake. Pizza in the hotel is good, there is an Irish pub about a 5 minute cab ride away, I've also eaten at a Chinese place. it takes about 2 hours to get to the slave castle and there is a jungle canopy tour. Drink Gin and tonics-the quinine in the tonic will deter the mosquitos-an old Brit trick.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Labor is providing over $2.6 million in grants to help the 613 Northwest Airlines workers who lost their jobs in Eagan due to the merger with Delta Air Lines Inc. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis says in a statement Wednesday that workers who lose jobs through no fault of their own deserve training and employment services. The grant was awarded to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and will be operated by Dakota-Scott Workforce Services. The money will give laid-off workers access to services including basic skills training and individual career counseling. The Department of Labor says the funds are made available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. |
Is it just me or does DAL suck at meeting aircraft at gates? I'm talking gate agents and/or groundcrew. Yesterday - 9 minutes waiting for a ground crew at LAX! We were on time within +/- 3 minutes and the alley was deserted, ie. not busy. This wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happen so often.

Scoop It is such a slap in the face to the customer when you're 50 feet from the gate, but we wait for someone to casual walk to get into position so they can do their job. Very frustrating. The system is broken. |
It is pretty ridiculous. How much money gets wasted in fuel, crew costs, and missed connections because there isn't a streamlined system in place to get everyone in the right place at the right time?
|
Was there any games on the TV at your arrival time? Sat outside a gate during the last five minutes of the superbowl once, and couldn't get anyone to answer the radio or park us.
