Chewing gum is outlawed (you can bring it in country, but you cannot purchase any), not flushing a toilet in a public bathroom carries a fine, peeing in an elevator carries a fine, littering carries a fine, but amazingly prostitution is legal (note that pornography is not and carries a hefty fine as well).

The government probably realized that outlawing it would be futile, so instead decided to legalize and control it...

You can google Orchard Towers.

Don't be surprised to occasionally see scantily clad wimmen in the hotel elevators when you check-in and head for your room at oh dark thirty.

1) What a civilized place!
2) Just make sure you don't pee when you see the scantily-clad women in the elevator, and everything will be fine.

When I was there last, there was a string of bars along the river about 4-6 blocks from the hotel. Nice scenery. The captain was even dancing on the tables, literally. So, the drinks must have been decent. :)

From a friend, no doubt.

Reminds me of the ladies man:

"Yeth, I've been down the Yellow River once. I did not enjoy it."

Scheduling just called with an IA for tonight. They blocked the telephone number!! Can they do that?

I didn't answer anyway. I don't answer unknown calls for that very reason.

NWALPA had a "cease and desist" grievance award for that very thing.

Scheduling HAD to use phone numbers that were clearly identified as NW AIRLINES on caller ID.

That would be a nice thing.

For now though, screen unknown or 404-715-xxxx calls received. Not once have I been surprised in over 3 years.

Previous airline issued calling cards to Crew Schedulers with the knowledge that the Caller ID would indicate the location of the card provider's location.

Forewarned is forearmed. I got used to answering the phone, "Hi, I'm drunk and when did they move Crew Scheduling to Denver?"

Thus far, Delta CS have been very reasonable when making a proffer.

Have found that scheds numbers come up as unavail but when they're doing the IAs, the number comes up as the VRU. Listen to that voice mail and see how much coin is on the table.
