Sat,
That's interesting. Is there some way that your buddy is supposed to indicate his preference? After all, you see people reporting on this board that only 30 to 50 want to come back. It would stand to reason if a pilot's longevity was restored, plus the other benefits, they would be "excited" to come back. I expected the number to be much, much, higher. Figure with the now senior recalls and a CVG displacement this fall there will be at least one or two more bids before junior guys can be free of the constant displacement threat. In other news volcanic activity in Ecuador and Guatemala is resulting in cancellation of Lima, Quito and Guayaquil flights. For those who think I'm always saying the "sky is falling," it is. I've been flying these friendly skies since 1987, and i can tell you that they don't make mistakes, they make assignments to cover the flights.

If I was on the 320, I would LOVE to give you a line check... because I have never seen a perfect flight... and since you are a professional PILOT, you don't make mistakes... right?

Nevermind, public BB is not the place to have this discussion.
I'll put $5 on Reddog. I've seen the f-nwa guys do this before. Never seen them lose. Besides, I've spent almost all of a decade on reserve. How is it that a guy can spend most of his career going down a seniority list? Seems mathematically impossible. Huh? |
Mixed Crews
Just finished covering a DTW ER trip and can't think of enough nice things to say about the fNWA employees I got to fly with. From the captain, a scholar and gentleman, to the FAs, all of them outgoing and downright funny, it was one of the more enjoyable trips I've flown in a while. I even not only got to fly a 757-300, (flies just like a 767,) but also a clapped out redtail 5500 757. While there were a few minor cultural differences, it made it interesting, comparing ways, and trying to come up with what would be a good mix of the two.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend, wherever you end up. And lets not forget what this weekend is really about. I'll be at our local military cemetary with my son's pack, putting flags on graves. And to all that served, Thank you for your sacrifices. |

I think this will be the norm. We're gonna make a good family. :) Kudos to you & your Son. My brother just made it back from his Afghanistan tour late Wed. night. That's 4 tours in Iraq & 1 Afghanistan. Semper Fi! |
