Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
One thing also to note is this: A best practice is a moving target and can vary from perspective. The way you've always done it may or may not be best considering the culture you are in. This can be very difficult to accept, and that resistance has been seen primarily in the (and I quote) "problem children" in the 744. Remember, sometimes when you're pointing a finger it might be best to consider the other curled back fingers pointing at yourself.
Carl is probably the loudest whiner (yes... you are, it's mostly whining) on this board... I don't let one screaming baby ruin my opinion of a group, especially since NW is the culture that I grew up around. We've done a heck of a job in the integration and these are the ripples in the road that I've been expecting for a while. If anything, all this illustrates the dire need for patience in letting IT inch it's way along to putting together a better system than any of us have seen. The fact is that it is going to take time to engineer something to work with a group the size that we are.

This was posted under a different thread but after the "Everything Delta is doing sucks" posts for the past three weeks I thought this would bring a different North perspective. Not everyone is in purgatory right now.
"My Father was planning on doing the same but decided to stay around. Apparently Delta is treating them much better than NWA did and has figured out a way to make more money while being home more! We did the math one night and he is earning more than a 74 Capt currently (75/76 out of MSP). I guess you just gotta know how to work the system. Delta seems like a great place, I have never seen him so excited to go to work!! I am very happy for him, its a big improvement from his attitude the past few years. You guys are all very lucky, I can only dream of the day I can get there."

About the hats. Someone posted a website that sold breathable hats a while back. Has anyone bought one yet? This Abbott hat is torture...
1 - Fnwa pilots are wearing their hats!!!! Today in ATL the short bus was parked next to my geriatric maddog. The bus pilot was wearing his hat on his WALK AROUND. Good on ya for wearing the hat but its not required when scoping out the underbelly.
2 - The new fictional md-90's are not fictional any more. Saw a Hello airlines md-90 at the TOC yesterday......they live!!
3 - All this fighting with Carl is getting annoying. If you have a problem fill out an FCR. This *****ing sounds like flightinfo and general lee. Grow up everyone and work towards a solution and not just RANT & RAVE and pi$$ everyone else off. It does no good for your cause and no one wants to help a whiner.

Heard the same from another line check/training type guy.
The vast majority of fNWA are integrating with no problems at all. They are taking leadership roles.
However, the senior entrenched 747 captains are apparently getting a reputation as a bunch of bed-wetters who are resisting any and all change just because it didn't come from them. More interested in posturing and their "prestige" than efficient flight operations. Thus we are seeing alot of them being quietly shown the door.
They are rapidly losing credibility and influence among the real decision-makers.
The whole situation is a real shame since those guys could be providing valuable input if they could just get over their "kiss my ring" complex.
Here is the problem. You keep saying things like "Don't tell us it is going to happen and then slam the door on everything we try to bring up". There isn't any DAL guys here on this forum who have done anything to ya'll. This is why we can't and don't understand. Tell me the names and individual situation. Private message me.
I keep hearing "I could give" ... "I know of" ... "I should" ... blah blah la-di-freakin-da.
Honestly, at this point [trust me when I say that I'm trying to understand and be objective because I could really care less about this NWA/DAL crap as I was hired by both], as a DAL guy I'm numb to these divisive types of rants because ITS OVER. WE ARE ONE PILOT GROUP. AND STOP POINTING THE FINGER AT US LIKE WE'RE A BUNCH OF MANAGEMENT TYPES WHO CAN SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS.
The problems with these "my management buddy told me blah blah and then he resigned" is that there's two sides of the story. I'm not suggesting what you guys allege isn't true. Once we know both sides of the story, calmer heads will prevail.
If you have an issue, go to a meeting and air it in front of a group of pilots. If you have real issues or wrong doing, people being fired, force retired, bring it up. I'm very confident that once management learns how disgruntled the red tails are (assuming you are because I only see it here in Carl and a few others ... guys on the line are awesome), something will change.

I now run into many fNWA guys on the line. They seem mostly happy. A lot of times they just want to get to know the scheduling system better and we usually give them a primer on how to game the system. Most still feel like they lost something in the SLI but they are over it.
Carl;
The DRT may or may not get along. Their job is to look at the issues and given the nature of their position, it is OK to disagree. It is part of the process.
Like I have said, have a little faith in the process. It has already produced results. Yep, probably not quick enough for many, but in reality the interface we use for our schedules is of lower priority than many of the issues this airline is facing.
I believe I said it over 15K posts ago when we were snipping about something else, but the approach one uses in regard to an issue generally has direct effect on the outcome. Do not put someone on the immediate defensive and you may get somewhere. Coming in with grenades shows the real intent and forces the other side to retort in kind.

A lot of time and energy went into defending those fences and some people have gone through a lot of change now that system seniority is being exercised both for entitlement bidding and for schedule bidding. The same thing happened on the A-330. Pilots hate change and this is just one more for them to deal with. I hope the LCA's are staying out of that aspect as that would get them into some hot water.
Uhhhh.. I don't honestly know, and to some extent, I don't care. and what does that have to do with anything? Keenster has been complaining that he has taken a paycut from day one, and I was just asking for a little edification.
