At least with the new president, we wont have to worry about getting overloaded with more, timely information about what is going on at National. We can just read about it in the papers after the fact.

Well, while we are waiting for that 50.000 maybe we can debate a bit on a little issue I ran into today. Apparantly Delta has decided that if you are gay you can add you partner to your medical insurance, however, if you are straight (like me) and have a GF you have lived with for almost two years, there is no way. I contacted ALPA and they assured me that Delta is in their right and that there is no laws stopping them from these discriminating policies. Anybody have an idea where to start so I can get my GF added to my medical insurance?
You can thank me later. Carl |

Sure. Change your sexual orientation. Say you're a lesbian, and you want your girlfriend on your medical policy.

The argument has been that gays aren't allowed to marry, so they are given domestic partner benefits in lieu of spousal benefits. Move to a state where gay marriage is legal and demand the same benefit as unmarried gay couples.

Ah you guys have such short memories.
Here is the usual response at road shows when memrat is imminent and the new contract has ****ty scope language. "Don't vote the entire contract up or down on a single issue, you have to look at the contract and evaluate it as a whole." Scope gets labelled as a "single issue" that is not important enough to vote down the rest of the contract. I have no problem voting NO on a contract with ****ty scope, but I've been on both the inside and outside of the MEC during negotiations. Pilots need to ignore the usual BS during roadshows and vote NO if they don't like their single issue. Scope has been number one on my list for almost 2 decades. P.S. Can we hire the author of the Negotation videos as our Negotiating Chairman? |

mind you I went to a college where very young and attractive girls knew the lyrics to Song of the South. :D It was hot.
Of course the hits when I started college was the Macarena, Celine Dion was annoying people with Because You Loved Me, C'mon N Ride it (the train) was very popular, Eric Clapton was singing about Change the World which was a far cry from the Eric Clapton songs you wish you could play, Jewell was talking about saving your soul and we were talking about Jewell, Hootie and the Blowfish were annoying people and I think 2pac was still alive. All of this was the year... |
