i for one wish we didn't have any fences at all. Fences make sense when you have wildly disparate fleets and demographics in a merger. When the two entities are roughly similar, such as in our merger, they just cause headaches and needless angst. At least ours is a relatively limited fence for a limited time.

The REP/NWA fences weren't really fences, but quotas. It did protect CA seats all the way down to the DC-9

Subtle difference.

You can go up to negative 20 in your bank. It gets paid back above 82 hrs in five hr increments or that is what I recall.

What you do is go to Option L or BANK. Put a request in for what you want.

Thanks for the quick answers, gentlemen. :D

That is true. Still seemed fair as long as you think quota's/fences in any form are fair.

The fences will be gone in a few years (thanks for that) but I'm sure guys will be arguing about who got screwed for decades. :D

Until we get our pay, retirement and benefits restored to pre-bankruptcy rates, we all got screwed, for decades...

What he is saying is that since the 787 was not canceled only deferred to a later date, any new 777's that would arrive would not be considered replacement a/c.

I believe the recent award takes it even a bit further, marking a very clear line that neither premerger group can cross until the fences come down.

Should hopefully help us all save $$$ on arbitrations.

Nu,

I have a question for you. If Delta were to try to buy AK, how would YOU want the SLI handled? Relative seniority by equipment types, or DOH? Being a FNWA pilot, I would guess you would want DOH, right?

Good point. We will see if the DRC agrees.
