"...Reserve yellow slip (YS) or green slip (GS) – Language is corrected to reflect that a reserve pilot may not be awarded a yellow slip or green slip that would:
o Cause him to exceed his block hour limit..."

Did we just kill Rolling Thunder? Or does this mean you can't go past 70 + ALV (and who would)?

Ruh roh Rorge... I hope you are not correct, because that would be really really bad news.

Enough of this LOA stuff - I think our planes are dirty too ;-)

The Russian says: Avianova: Few know how our planes are washed:

Neither - Block Hour Limit is ensuring you don't reach 1000 for the year by, say, Nov. (then you'd have to have the rest of the year off)

I agree! Block hour limit is different than the other ALV thingy. I'm learning. (I think)

OK, I think I see it now. Thanks.

B. Block Hour Limit
1. A domestic category pilot’s block hour limit for the subsequent bid period will be
calculated using the following formula:
Block hour limit = 1000 – A – (75 x B)
A = his block hours accumulated since January 1 of the current year plus his
scheduled block hours remaining in the current bid period, and
B = the number of bid periods remaining in the year subsequent to the bid period
for which the formula is being applied (e.g., B = 11 for the calculation

The short answer is yes, but you have to find the one you want to swap with and work it out with them and through scheds. or the vacation guru. On the DALPA forum there is a Vacation Swap conference where you can post yours to see if anyone there is interested.

I'm not sure if there is a way to find out who has which week however so good luck finding them, maybe the vacation guru knows who has which weeks. I beileve that guru is Lynn Ivey, but call your CPO and ask who to call, might be different up north.

This happens every year. If you do not live in California but are based there the state will come after you. As Denny said, Call the secretary - she is intimately familiar with this issue. If you commute in, and live in another state, you do not have to pay CA taxes.

So Thanksgiving Weather by base:

ATL- rain, high of 57, day before "national opt out day" will have a high of 71 and TSRA's.

DTW- snow, high of 38.

JFK - showers from Tue-Thursday, highs in the 50s,

MSP - snow on national opt out day, highs in the 20s, lows in the teens. Ah, MSP, where winter changed into spring, spring changed into summer, summer changed back into winter, and winter gave spring and summer a miss and went straight on into autumn... until one day...

MEM- shows on national opt out day otherwise highs in the 50s

SLC- clear, highs in the 30s

SEA- clear, in the 40s

LAX- do we have a base there? I thought we gave that up to Alaska. I'm sure its highs in the 60s and clear skies, I won't even bother looking it up. Too bad, that was probably a nice base. Ugh, I'm sorry. It's thanksgiving. This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who.

I guess I should go back to studying my CD. I now know you should rest between 2-6 and 2-6. I've got the rest periods down pat on the 88 now. I don't think I get one. Just a hunch.
