If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck chances are it is a ,,,,,,oh the fleet capt on the 330 wasn't a duck but he has been part of operation visine....Now there are only 1 or 2 left to be done away with.Seems to be the delta way.

Why does anyone care who the fleet captain is?

On reserve, can they reroute you into a non-golden x day on a whim, or can they only do that when no other reserves are available to cover? I know its in Sec. 23 somewhere, but that's why I have you guys!! :)

I don't think the north types realize the limited roll that fleet captains play.

The airline is line oriented and much of the standards stuff comes from the LCP side of things. Of course the way this push without numbers stuff was designed and implemented I've got to wonder....

Look for some additional single engine landing practice in next year's recurrent.

Contact, or damage?

I have not heard how bad. Just that they hit the tail.
Probably not good. Landing strikes are always worse than take-off.

Don't you have to help the nose down on a 767 and keep the 757 from slamming the nose down? Guess we now know that you REALLY have to help the nose down when your super duper premium heavy....and on one engine.:D:p

If the fleet captain has a limited roll...why even have them...where does the standards captains fall in this line oriented group?

Another union vote down

Delta has just issued the following statement to news media about IAM representation being rejected by Delta TechOps stores employees. Please continue to monitor DNN for updates on this breaking story.

“Once again our people have decided that Delta’s direct relationship between employees and leaders works. This is the eighth workgroup in which representation was resolved since Delta’s merger, resulting in no union for the more than 41,000 employees in these groups. We urge the IAM and AFA to respect our people’s choice and the will of the majority. Delta people have patiently waited two years to have their pay, benefits, work rules, and seniority aligned. It’s time to move forward.”
