One thing that I got from the Airtran SLI thread is that SWA has a lot of soft money, or at least ways to work more and make some decent coin.

It might be in DALPA's benefit to push less for hard, dollar improvement to the base rates, and push for more soft money (credit time, better trip rig, etc). Before you hit reply and dogpile me, think of this.

It's an easier sell to the other employee groups to say, "yea, we gave the pilots 3% raise over 4 years" than to say, "we gave them 20% right off the bat". However, the soft money (that we see and can figure out) makes up for it. We make more $$$ in our paycheck (for the same work) while the company gets to say, "what big pay raises?" and point to our $/hr rates.

Your concept might have some merit. But I immediately "dogpiled" you for suggesting that a 20% increase right off the bat would be anything other than laughable.

Actually, I can find disparaging remarks on almost every page. Just wondering but sounds like the answer is no.

Anyone with a Sprint EVO... Are u able to connect to gogo WiFi? I can connect to any land based WiFi, but tried 5 commuting legs and it always drops after about 5-20 seconds. Any help?

They need to do a better job than they have with the 787 or it will bankrupt Boeing.

I got a call from the Wilson polling people last night. Questions about "how do you think Delta mgmt is doing? How is the DALPA working for you? What problems does DALPA have, How effective is ALPA National" (I mentioned Scope about five times - both at the large airplane level and small airplane level.) then, "Have you heard of DPA?" when I said I was very familar with them, a whole slew of questions about DPA were asked.

I find this fascinating. Here we are just months away from the ability to begin our Section 6 opener. The many ALPA apologists and DALPA loyalitsts here have been saying: "Don't worry about there not being a stated objective yet...that's what the polling is for. When the polling is finished, DALPA will come out with their clear objectives and battle plan, etc."

If any of that is to happen, wouldn't you think that the current polling would be asking pilots what their priorities are in the next contract? Instead, they're asking questions designed to help defeat the DPA. My questions are as follows:

1. When will polling begin on pilot's priorities?
2. Will such polling ever happen?
3. Will DALPA ever clearly state their objectives?
4. Is it DALPA's only objective to have a "seat at the table?"
