I got a call from the Wilson polling people last night. Questions about "how do you think Delta mgmt is doing? How is the DALPA working for you? What problems does DALPA have, How effective is ALPA National" (I mentioned Scope about five times - both at the large airplane level and small airplane level.) then, "Have you heard of DPA?" when I said I was very familar with them, a whole slew of questions about DPA were asked.

Did you get the impression from these questions that ALPA national is concerned about DPA?

actually many of our A320s are older then our 88s...thus the RFP

SEA and LAX are pilot bases (domiciles)

By definition a "hub" has more than 100 departures a day...

The PWA defines LAX as a hub to provide "protection" to LAX flying.

In reality AS can fly the DL code to anywhere in the world from LAX.
The hub status "protection" limits AS flights from LAX to ATL, CVG, DTW, MEM, NYC & SLC to 25% of all flights on those routes...hardly a limit at all.

Call your reps or RD (codeshare guy) and voice your discontent...

Now that DPA looks dead, everyone needs to know where their reps and the MEC Chairman actually stands on Section 1. If you care about reversing outsourcing, you'll be very alarmed.

The first step would be include "scope" in the DALPA mission statement.
It's not in there right now.

The mission statement sets the priorities for the MEC...
A resolution at the local level is the starting point.

I agree. That should be in there. And IMO the most glaring error with our current mission statement is that it is wide open to interpretation by whomever is reading it. A vague reference to "improvements" can be interpreted as a 1% increase or a 100% increase! Given the severity of the hole in which we find ourselves, the wording is simply inadequate and inappropriate.

Good earning from UAL. Their cash and equivs are over 8 billion. Ever good when compared to competitors.

Read section one. SEA and LAX are not considered hubs.
