Interesting - Azul in Portuguese == Blue

Maybe a breast cancer awareness, or all Azul's pink? Or is it the all female crew.

Question for the PBS gurus,

When the PCS multiplier is in place for a category, to move off days as a reserve pilots, does the 1.5 multipliers essentially mean that the amounts of reserves needed to drop a day needs to 1.5 times what is listed on ICREW.

Essentially, if the amount of reserves required is 10 for a specific day to move that day as a reserve pilot the the availability would need to be 15 as opposed to just more than the minimum required of 10?

Not sure if my logic is sound here.

You're right about the numbers, but go ahead and ask because they sometimes modify the requirements (randomly and without notice, or so it appears).

So I guess the numbers that show up on the reserve availability list doesn't yet figure in the PCS multiplier.

thanks for the info.

U.S., Brazil Agree to Open Skies

Makes NKS a lot less valuable now......

Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) --The U.S. and Brazil reached an agreement to end restrictions on flights between the two countries in 2015, said Bruno Dalcolmo, head of international relations at Brazil’s national aviation agency, Anac.

The countries plan to gradually lift a limit of 154 flights per week and may create an additional 28 routes next year, Dalcolmo said in a telephone interview from Brasilia yesterday. A preliminary agreement has been reached between negotiators for the two governments and a formal agreement still needs to be made, he said.

They say color coding has returned to the bottom of the iCrew screen, but I've not seen it. On the 737, I've seen two days in three years where reserve coverage has been above min. I've NEVER seen a 1.5 multiplier.

Cheaper to staff with white slips & a handful of green slips than hire pilots. I have this vision in Crew Scheduling there is a sign over the entrance.

"THROUGH THESE DOORS WALK THE WORLD'S PREMIER EXPERTS AT UTILIZING RESERVES 69.9998 HOURS A MONTH,
with 400 hours time away from base!"

I also think they hold back the short call notfications then hold a betting pool on who can "do the best you can" to a departure 45 minutes after the call. "put $5 on FO Smith, he did 47 minutes to an international call after being on duty for 18 hours last week... ah nuts, FO Jones just did it in 38 and Smith just called in stuck on the connector. OK I'm doubling down on Jones ... put crew accommodations on hold... RATS! Jones is sick! Call Bob, he lets his kids answer the phone, GOT 'EM! ... no take the domestic guys that are timed out and put them on domestic, take the international guys and use them for domestic ... coverage baby, like I covered that $5 on Smith ... split the NYC rotation, put deadheads on both ends..."
