It's funny. The only reason why I know the weather is bad in MSP is because of this board and ESPN reporting that the indoor football game is being moved to Monday night due to weather. It was 75 degrees here today.

Note to self: Never pirep severe turbulence unless something broke. They also focus on specific areas of the runways. I usually don't make it a habit to judge how another crew runs their cockpit, but it always throws me for a loop when pilots give braking reports of NIL without needing the last turnoff. I at least like the option of being able to have a measurable scale on the ground can give a more accurate estimate of the braking action so the first guy in doesn't have to do it. I agree the verbiage is a little monotonous at times, and overstating/understating an environmental conditions can screw up someone's day one way or another. Hopefully the planes of the future will have turbulence/braking sensors so I can make thinking at work more of an option and less of a requirement. |
