I venture to say that we all have something very important to us that the chairman did NOT mention. Maybe retirement is more important to me than scope. Should I get all bent out of shape because of that? I think it is important to realize that the MEC has to take the concerns of ALL the Delta pilots into consideration and try to focus on issues that we all agree on. In many ways that is very difficult to do but here, I think, the master chairman has focused on an issue that we all agree on - pay. I will not blast him right out of the gate for what he did not mention even if it is very important to me individually or collectively among some here on APC. We don't speak for the entire pilot group. I'm sure that the lounge visits have had different flavors around the system. I am willing to give this new leadership team a chance to see how they will respond to us before giving them serious critique. :)

Frank;
Probably the same reason Comair and ASA at the time were not. Good idea though. |

Two things. First, why are pilots at Delta Air Elite not on the Delta seniority list?
Second, here's the letter I'm about to fire off: Dear Captain O'Malley, I was pleased to read your recent all pilot letter laying out your priorities and the MEC's coming focus on pilot education. It disturbed me, however, to see no mention of scope on your priority list. As you know, scope is a bedrock issue for us: 76-seat flying represents Delta jobs lost and JVs, code shares, and marketing agreements that give away swaths of our narrow and wide body flying represent Delta jobs lost. I respectfully submit that our MEC make clear that we absolutely will not budge on >76-seat scope. Further, our goals should include reclaiming all flying above 70 seats for Delta Seniority List pilots and getting back as much of the flying that we've given away to Alaska, SkyTeam, et. al. that we can. I don't care who holds the lease on the metal, but I do care who employs the pilots. Thank you for your devotion to restoring this profession for us all. I look forward to great things in the future. BTW great letter. |

Good news, well sort of after Apples alarm screw up (again). Saw an article yesterday that said that the problem fixes itself on the 3rd (guess only the geeks know why).
Anyway, I'm "over there" (it the 3rd here) and tried it last night and again this morning and the alarm is working fine now. Apple needs to fix this.......talk about a black eye for an otherwise great product:( Ferd PS........just found out, and confirmed it on TravelNet, that Nagoya - Saipan goes away in April. Leaves us with just the two flights out of Narita:mad: |

Quick Non-Rev Question:
I'm trying to get the family back from Asia. There are flights with 30+ seats in Business and just a couple in coach. My two kid's ages prohibit listing and traveling in Business. If there are a ton of seats up front and the back is full, will they leave non-revs at the gate or might they bump a couple rev pax to Business to accommodate non-revs? Is there a policy or is it just up to the gate agent? Thanks, Humboldt |
It seems that the Winter 2011 Quarterly CQ CD works on Macs, even though it doesn't say so on the CD. Put the CD in your computer, open it up and double-click on "Mac_Start" icon with the pens on it.
I just started it up, but it seems to work fine. |

Quick question: trying to set up friends for a swap...want to park a trip then pick back up. I know the pilot has to be in your category but do they also have to be a regular schedule holder or can it be a reserve pilot with the days off to temporarily park the trip? Thanks for the help.

Spent all day yesterday (ok not all day) doing the QCQ and when I tried to enter the code the Commodore 64 running iCrew says "Code Invalid".
On the bright side, IT is aware of the issue and is supposed to have a fix in place by 4 JAN. Sounds like when we had to do the M90 course. Wouldn't it be nice to have these things checked before issuing the course? Kudos however to the QCQ guys for setting this up as a download so I didn't have to drag my benched ass to a base to get the discs!! |
