No more beaches, no more chicks, no more bars. The end is coming. Run while you can! Everybody, head over to Alaska or AirTran, right now! Run, Forrest, run! Its a Boeing, for God's sake, why would you want to fly it?(Just saying). ;)

What a complete waste of time to watch. I changed the channel before it was even over. They should have titled the episode, "An Inconvenient Sky."

Quick newbie question, I'm trying to understand my transition from training pay to flight pay. The end of the month pay check, is that pay for the previous 15 days of pay, or is it an advance for the next months pay? So, is the JAN 30th pay check cover the 15th-30th of Jan or an advance covering Feb 1st-15th. Thanks

Hate to say it, but there is a really good explanation of this back in the early pages of this thread. Since searching it is difficult, I'll take a swing at it.

In training, you were paid a salary. Your end of the month check was for the last half of the month and you were paid up to date. Flight pay works a little differently. You get paid on the 15th of the month for the previous month's flying, so the Feb 15th pay check covers the Jan 1-30 bid period (Jan 31 is in a different bid period).

The end of the month "advance" really is just an advance on what should be coming to you. A lot will depend on what day you transitioned to flight pay. Another bothersome point is they will take some time to make the transition resulting in you being overpaid.

There are some really smart folks here that can patch the holes I'm sure I've left, but feel free to ask away and if you want to get into specifics, PM me. Welcome to Delta!

It can get ugly. After finishing ioe, it was $400 one paycheck and $800 the next before it got back to "normal."
