I feel complete. I think I'm going to stop posting now and just enjoy having all 5s.

5s is better then S5. :mad:

Does anyone have any comments on the rumors or statements floating around that the 320 fleet may see some basing changes on the next AE? What would you expect to be the moves? Seems to me the 320 is best suited for SLC, able to reach both coasts nicely from there, but not so well at ATL, NYC, or LAX?

Also, where will all the pilots, Capts and FO both, be likely to bid when the DC9 is drawn down--will it all be absorbed by MD90?

S5 = adventure.

I like the new MCO hotel. I didn't like the old one, I like this one. Plus the water bottles are free in your room.

Oh yeah... also, what would QOL be at 80% on the 73NB in LA (commuting from PHX)? Would that hold a line, or would it be off and on a line-holder? And what kind of trips does 80% get you, something pretty bad for commuting probably? I'm staring at these bid packs, but very hard to get my brain around what type of trips they are.

Thx.

As to the 320: We plan to publish our next bid in the second quarter of 2011 to support the proposed fall 2011 flying. It will most likely be a 365 day bid and will include some changes to the A330 and A319/320 basing. We will let you know more as we get closer to that bid.

If you're able to get online pull the following up on deltanet under crew resources and scheduling and Crew Resource News the Advance Entitlement/Surplus Bid Posting Recap.

As to where DC9 pilots will bid? They can and will probably bid all over. There are forecasted to be 345 DC-9 "mini-gods" by August 2011. If you divided those 345 evenly over the 9 bases its about 38 pilots total into each of those bases. I believe there is a major need for 320 B's and if the 90s roll in and the DOT collapses and we get our slot swap maybe spots again on the 88/90 for those who understand the value of Douglas jets.

fwiw, the planes won't be gone by August 2011 so by the time they are confirmed to be leaving and there is a draw down there is no telling how many pilots there are or where they'll want to go. They may not know until the AE that displaced them is published because they may bid %'s on a multitude of categories and so that is

When are you coming back? Feb bid awards will be far different that June.

Here is one way to look at bids. Go to Reasons Report. Pull up the first name you see and you'll see that there are 56 eligible pilots in the base. 80% of 56 is around 45. So CTRL+F and put in 45/56. With that guy you'll see: Category:45/57 Eligible:45/56 Regular:41/41 Reserve:4(above)/15

So turns out there were 41 regular lines, this guy was #41 of 41 people to hold a line. So he held the last line. There were 4 people above him that bid down to reserve and 15 reserve lines below him. Now you have some numbers and can go back over to the wide reports to take a look.

Or start at wide reports, there are 10 pilots per page. Count the pages, figure out how many pilots there were, figure out what % you want to look at and find that guy. Say 65% in LAX 73N B. Again you count 56 pilots and find 65% which is around 36th guy so find page 3 and the 6th guy. Look below him and see what trips he or she could've gottin'. It's really not exact but it works... for February 2011.
