I thought you couldn't GS while on reserve? How do you prevent the company from giving you golden days? Last month they just randomly gave me golden days and I never asked for them.

Anyone can GS, even on reserve days. But if you're awarded a GS trip that falls on reserve days you're not going to get the full benefits of a GS. I have GS'd a 4 day where the 1st 2 days fell on X days. Those first 2 days were straight pay no credit and I received payback days. So I got the days off back, plus the pay was added to my min guarantee of 70 hours.

In regards to Golden Days, you can't prevent the company from giving you GD but you can pick/bid where you want them. You do this between the 17th-19th via icrew. In your case you want to put them on the back end of the month. You can only bid them in groups of 3.

Edit: Denny beat me. :D

The benefit of rolling thunder is (using the assumption that the greenslip falls always on xdays) that you always get the days paid back - normally you would ask for the payback following any mandated rest, and if you keep the flying rolling, whatever you get paid will be in addition to the 70 hour guarantee.

On my time card it says bank limit option 1: 81 and change. What does that mean?

The 81 and change is the ALV plus 5.

Option 1 is to take time from your bank and add it to your pay for the current month.

The limit you can go up to for a month using bank withdrawals is ALV + 5 or 82 hours (whichever is less).

Guys,

Anyone help a brother out ? I was injured on the job a few months ago. A couple of surgeries and lengthy rehab placed me in LTD.

I always understood that my LTD benefits were offset by any weekly Workmen's Comp payments I received.

I received a one-time payment for an awarded permanent partial disability, and now DAL says I have to pay that back to them as an additional offset to the LTD plan.

Not whining too much, but it seems to me that payment for an OJI permanent disability should not be subject to recapture by the LTD plan. In my case, it was several thousand dollars.

I can't find anything in the PWA that addresses this, and all the Dalpa types are tied up in the MEC meeting. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards to all.....

The days off have to be X days, not golden days. Then greenslip on those days. If you get a trip, you get the days paid back. Repeat the previous process.

Correct, except you CAN do it on golden days.
Golden days are X days except that they are "inviolable" by crew scheduling. (No reroute into them or inverse assignments, etc.)
A pilot can violate his own golden day. (Green slip, yellow slip, etc.)
Golden X days also lose their golden status if you move them via PCS.

You won't find that in the PWA. It will be in the plan documents.

Wild guess --> its going to depend on who paid you and how that payment was characterized.

That's way beyond this forum though. You need to call Karen Brown at DALPA.
