Uh, forefathers? Try current employees. A couple of these might solve the problem.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2290/...4f3fc85247.jpg I had a talk with a Captain once that was pretty enlightening. He told me what his Captain buddy's are saying about what they'd accept in the next contract and it'd make you mad. Made him mad. I like Captains with SCOPE lynards. |

In regard to how the whole scope thing got started was what I was referring to.
You often still hear it manifested this way, first anything made by Embraer or that Bombadeer company is not a mainline aircraft and then when it comes to RJ pay "they're paying their dues, I paid mine..." |

True. I see that now. -5 points for FTB.

I can see where back in the 90's the Metroliners flying between Sun Valley and SLC wasn't much of a threat. But boy, it sure got out of control fast! Unfethered, capped and clear on the left. |

In a any event we agree that we have to get this flying back to the mainline. In my opinion, it's more important than the pay issue. Ironically, my family would be doing much better pay wise if both of us were flying at Delta at current pay rates than one of use flying for "The DC 9 Replacement Airline" and the other of us at Delta.

Unfethered, capped and clear on the left. it got out of hand real fast. besides who knew in the early 1990s that a stretched diminutive corporate jet and a jet version of a problematic foreign turboprop all seating a meager 50 seats would unseat a 737? And who knew that not every aircraft in an airlines fleet had to be flown the same as the 727! You'd been called the present version of the future Charlie Sheen if you predicted that. But had you said it would be good for the airline, then you'd made perfect ALPA leadership material. |

I once heard that Pratt and Whitney had the opportunity to make a bid to produce the ERJ-145's engine but passed citing that nobody would buy an RJ. Now I think there are a little over a 1,000 of them and they financed the creation of the E-Jets.
