Isnt this what DAL is trying to change by getting de-listed from the ticket mills?
Step 1. Sell your own tickets. Step 2. Market those tickets. Step 3. Poke SWA in the eye. emoticon added for any SW readers. I do have a feeling that this perception is about to change though. Now if we can just get the Federal Government to allow Fuel Surcharges to be added and not included in the base fare of a domestic ticket. It would change the game completely. |

Yep, and the reality is SWA is not cheaper on all routes, and they know it. It is part of the reason they have never opted to compete with the likes of UAL, DAL, and AMR on the ticket clearing house sites. Perception is reality though.

What does the pop up in icrew mean--Did I enter in my training expenses? I just went to recurrent, what do they want me to enter? I assume I got per diem. Not ATL based.
Thanks. |

This would completely decouple our pay from the price of oil, as it should be anyway!!! Sounds like a good place to get a grassroots effort going!! call your reps! I agree, and it is something that I have been pestering our reps, and my elected officials about for many moons. Stopping oil speculation is also another thing that needs to stop. We need to have investors buy oil on a dollar per dollar basis, not on margin. Raising interest rates will take care of part of it, but more needs to be done. Decoupling oil would definitely take it out of the variable costs that we have to deal with. |

Thanks. For whatever reason, you have to enter your own Training times or you will not get perdiem. Go to ICrew, look under the PAY/HOURS tab and then find EXPENSES and eventually the link for ADD/UPDATE TRAINING EXPENSES. I do it from the start to end of my Training DH flights. |
Good News!
Oil will probably always go up. Delta is hedged pretty good compared to most. The airlines' should start raising fares, thus making money with less load factor and less weight/burn. I think the 80's are around the corner (low loads, high profits). I just wish people/pilots would stop "panicking" about oil. Our "shown" fear and helpless-ness towards oil, gives management a weapon to use on our contract negotiations. Oil goes up, so what? It is not our duty as pilots to worry about revenues, its managements' job! We just have to fly a safe aircraft as efficiently as possible. Enjoy the nice hedge boys!! TYG |

HOLY COW what the heck happened to ATL 88 reserve coverage? I know where testing out that new trade, swap and so forth but wow. For a category that normally has 40+ pilots on reserve this weekend try 12, 11, 7 and 16. Then it goes back into the 40s and 60s. Only 1 of the 12 on reserve tomorrow is available for more than 1 day. The rest are just 1 and it's clear skies. This isn't IROPs recovery.
But the forecast is for rain so can you say, hello GS's in ATL! But yall have fun, I'll be the sim. http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1299183910 |
