Another Update

Thanks to all of you that have been thinking of us. Unfortunately, during a final check up they found some other areas of concern and the transplant was postponed and we're now in medical testing limbo. My wife and I are both more grateful than all of you can know for your support. Thanks and I'll post what I can whenever I know more.

While there is a lot of medical explanations my wife's transplant is being postponed (some areas of concern during pre-surgery testing) and being relisted as a dual kidney/liver transplant. While this is very disappointing in the short term in the long term the doctors say her prognosis is much better. Also, because of the nature of her disease (it is very rare) she is actually fairly high on the list and we expect to be back for the double transplant within a year. I can't thank everyone enough for all the support we've been given by everyone and I'll be sure to update whenever anything changes. I would also like everyone to know that Delta Air Lines management and the insurance company (yes - we have United Health) have also been extremely supportive during all the care we have received since she first became ill. If anyone ever has issues with their health insurance please feel free to PM me because I have learned way more about our insurance benefits than I ever wanted to.

Thanks again,

Dal73n

Make sure that your chief pilot knows what you are going through here. It is not uncommon for them to help you out beyond their contractual obligations.

Been great and supportive the entire time - couldn't ask for more!

I thought it was for claiming you van tips from the hotel to the training center. Since they schedule me a flight and put me in a hotel, why would I not expect that they also had perdiem covered...Amish.

Yes, they can as long as they give it to you prior to 12 hours before the report of the original rotation.

Even though all trips in open time are scheduled to report EARLIER then my original trip???

Are you still talking about trips going out the following day?

If I understand what you are asking, I think you might be confused about "earlier" as it is used in that section of the contract.

If they give you a trip that doesn't sign in until the next day then that is not "earlier" no matter what time of day it signs in. "Earlier" refers to anything before your original report day/time for the trip. It doesn't mean time of day.

Don't know if I explained that very well. Here's an example: If you were originally supposed to sign in at 0830 on Monday they can't give you something that signs in at 0815 on Monday. But they can give you something that signs in at 0530 on Tuesday.

She's gotta be one tough girl.
It must be fairly painful to get a tattoo in that particular area.

I believe in swahili her name is "Haboowah nyuck nyuck click" which means "one who tattoos the hoo-hah."
