He said they would rather have us sit off the gate with an engine running so it wouldn't look bad on them now that they are too busy to turn the jet quick enough.
We can't win when the ground guys are holding us off the gate so it won't reflect poorly on them. Everyone is focused on how to avoid blame and covering up the issues in the process. |

As a pax/non revver/DH'er/commuter, I'd rather be on a MD than a 73 with the one exception of those few rows in the back by the engines and the brake squeals and vibrations its prone to get.
Don't know that I've ever sat in those seats in an actual 90 though, but I can't imagine they are a whole lot better than the 88. But anyway 2-3 seating is way better than 3-3 seating (a same total seat count but way less middle seats) and the majority of the 88/90 is quiet and smooth, with closer to the front being one of the better rides in any cabin IMHO. |
Stupid Question:
Someone was murdered behind our training hotel last night in Atlanta. I haven't spoken to the police to find out what they believe happened. However, they have the entire parking lot blocked off, 5 numbered markers scattered through the parking lot (shell casings), and pickup truck marked off. Would DAL corporate security care to know this? Or is this ops normal for Atlanta? I am surprised it didn't wake me up because the noise from Bobby Brown highway keeps me up at night and the highway is farther away, the parking lot is immediately behind the hotel. |

Cash preservation allows the company greater flexibility to manage business. Now, how the pax feel about the -90 vs. -800 is another topic.
seriously, go back 5-6 years ago, did the 738 have fewer seats? they seemed a lot more comfortable. I think everytime I'm in the back of a 757 or 737 its a middle seat in the middle of coach. And the < 5'5" guy or gal in front just has to recline but they get frustrated the seat wont recline as far as they want because of my knees so they start slamming the seat back over and over... man I hate dhs. |

Interesting. I didn't know about this shooting outside the other training hotel. But the black F250 with a trailer, is right outside my hotel (the Doubletree).
Ironic how this went down besides both training hotels. Body Found Near Local Hotels - News Story - WSB Atlanta |

Anyone have a take on the PBI-ATL or PBI-LGA commute.
Dunno too much about the PBI-ATL or LGA commute, but FLL or MIA to ATL is very doable. 14 flights a day out of FLL to ATL just on company metal, plus another 14 on Tranny and another handful on Spirit the last time I checked. Nu |
