tyg, didn't you just get the ER in LAX? seems like a decent upgrade from MSP...

I can say that as I sit in this stinky lounge chair under F9 in MSP.

The choice was based on several factors, but yes. They didn't seem like a group that management could push around.

I wasn't aware of all the inter-ALPA drama at the time. I did know I didn't want to go join Hoffa's kids at CHQ.

Sounds like good advice; I'm already on top of that.

I'll bet you are in a very small group that made a job choice based on a union..

An uneducated choice, obviously. And don't forget the promise of plentiful underboob.

Comair has failed to deliver on so many levels...

This darn industry was never meant to be fair. Just enjoy your home life and try to make the industry better by fighting forward and enhancing your future.

Ten
All true. And, to be fair, what about the 91 Delta hires that are now junior to 93 and 94 NWA hires? Let's keep the perspective balanced. This industry is all about timing and circumstances beyond all of our control.

As for Boomer, I hope he gets a chance at DAL. As one of those furloughed and shunned by OH in 2001, I don't hold that against him. Some of those other guys, well, .....

Don't be bashing on the MSP pilot lounge its...its..its better than LGA.

In all seriousness I just had my first chance to check out the CVG pilot lounge, great digs. All of our lounges should be that nice.

Yep, the CVG lounge is the gold standard. Its the former Crown Room in Cincy. Of course, its so nice, CVG will probably close now.

OTOH, LAX's pilot lounge hasn't had an upgrade since the Western days. We still can't get a cell phone signal and I don't think its been painted since we were flying the Connies.

MSP is a bit worse but that's not saying a whole heck of a lot.

That LAX lounge is great if you want to take a nap! I have never been able to make a call down there though.

Since I live here, I don't nap there a lot. Just seems really creepy to me. I minimize my time down there whenever I can. 'Course the "fine dining" options in 5 ain't all that hot either. Take a wander over to the SWA side and see their digs. That's what we should be aspiring to in LA. We could own this place if we wanted to...and should have after the Western merger. Herb K was a mess thinking we'd pulled a coup. Now, we need to recapture that out here, and we can, if we want to.
