Principle.

12000 guys have received 2% DC increases thus far. I don't know why these 200 guys should get 5% increase, when all the rest of us have only gotten 2%. And with the merger equity these guys got, they are WAY ahead of the DAL new hires in building a decent retirement, so that argument doesn't float with me.

If we're gonna re-negotiate sections of the PWA to benefit small demographics, how about these:

1) NYC based pilot hourly pay rates oughta be $3/hr higher than anywhere else, because that place is expensive
2) ATL guys oughta get a couple of positive space passes every year to compensate them for the fact that they DON'T get any during CQ training, but everyone else does.
3) ATL guys oughta get per diem while in training just like the non-ATL guys do.
4) Non-commuters oughta get a couple of positive space passes too, to compensate them for the "call in honest" passes the commuters now get.

I could go on and on...

Agreed, but I digress. His/Her point is that whether it is fair or not, is not the point. It was what the pre-merger group agreed to. (At least that seems to be the point I take from it)

I also see it as a good will for the company to do that, but alas, it is a business.

Are those ideas? Some might get some leverage

Hey if they wanna throw some good will our way, see my four suggestions! Throw 3% to the NWA new hires and its solid 5. I'm in!

How many merger equity shares did he get compared to you?

Just curious.
They also get 3% less than all PMDL pilots that did receive merger equity shares.

In case you havent figured it out, they were unintentionally disadvantaged during the chaos of the merged PWA negotiations. Now is the correct time to fix the error.

Chaos? Negotiations were off and on for 5 months.

A few more questions then I'm going to bed:

1) What percent was going to the targeted NW guys prior to the merger? Answer: 5%
2) What percent was going to the non targeted NW guys prior to the merger? Answer: 5%
3) What percent is going to the targeted NW guys now? Answer: 8%
4) What percent is going to the non targeted NW guys now? Answer 8%

If your argument is that the non targeted guys need more DC, because they don't have a DB or the MP3, why didn't you guys give them more in the first place, before the merger ever occurred?

I'm bored, and moving on. Talk to you later.

You should thank the person that brought forth this resolution at the C20 meeting.

So which one of the merger committee guys are they trying to get rid of? Hopefully not the guy we like so much at the Air Transport Association.

I hate to say it, but this was negotiated and not brought up, by those represented those not on par, for redress until everything was set in stone awaiting signatures. If you were to fix it then there were others who wanted what they wanted addressed as it was a package full of gives and takes.

That's how it was explained to me when I brought it up to the merger chair after it was talked about on this thread last year or sometime before that.

Somebody failed to do their job. I'm all for fixing it. I'm also for fixing other issues too. I think the whole PWA needs to be looked at soon.

btw, a plebe/rat/newbe/knot/greenhorn/et.al. like myself would have never known to ask if someone (presumably Hockey) hadn't talked about it here. See, this thread serves a purpose.
