Quote: So, any intel as to what actually happened here? Amazing video.
Anybody notice in the notes that "the investigation was started after this amateur video surfaced" and not "the investigation was started after a bunch of people almost died?"

Ah, russia...
I'm diggin the new main page of APC. The author says he invented a new term about the industry called "stagnation point."

Ha! - stagantion would seem pretty good out here in LAX. I'll see his "stagnation point" and raise him with my own new industry term "Regression Point." You know you are at the regression point when you don't give a crap about the next AE, because all you do is go backwards. Hmmm maybe "Retrograde point?"

Boeing won't start detailed design work on any 737 replacement until 2014 to keep pace with planned changes to the manufacturing process for new aircraft, a senior executive said Tuesday.
The company has yet to decide whether to replace its best-selling narrowbody with a clean-sheet plane or follow rival Airbus by adding new engines and other upgrades. Boeing is also assessing potential upgrades to its 777 widebody range, including reengining the planes and introducing larger wings to improve performance.
"One thing I'll make sure we don't do is enter the design phase with technology that isn't mature," said Jim Albaugh, chief executive of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Quote: S3B on an RJ would be S3CR unless its on 9E or OH. I've gone to the airport a couple of times having ignored the retiree block on the standby list only to discover the retiree/parents in question were from AS or OO and I dropped below them.
I agree that no parents should bump a working employee, especially a working crew member. Nothing like the parents of a Delta new hire getto ramp rat not listed showing up and bumping you from getting to work! A new rating for all working crew in uniform going to work should be S3A.

I disagree, I believe that the employees and thier pass riders should have a higher priority than some OTHER companies employee using the aircraft to get to work, or wherever. That is the benefit of working for that company( usually not much of one but still it is as what it should be). If you don't work for Delta, and you want a ride to work fine, however...A Delta employee's family should and does have a higher status. I expect the same when I am jumping on anyother airline, and really, why should it be different?

Being a little harsh on our fellow employees, aren't we.

Boeing is on its way to becoming a military contractor. Were widebodies "mature" when they launched the 747? Was pressurization mature before the 377? How about jets prior to the 707, or two man cockpits, cross platform pilot qualification, supercritical wings, VNAV, FMC, and two engine ETOPS prior to the 767 & 757.

What Boeing is telling us is that they have outsourced their engineering leadership and they are restricted by the capabilities of their vendors.

Sad day for those of us who take pride in our American aerospace industry. Danny stock watchers with 90 day time horizons.
I disagree, I think any crew member going to base to start work should have priority. Not going to anywhere else just your base. Get caught abusing this and all privledges are revoked. Times have changed and planes are full and oversold more than in the past and something needs to change. A Delta pilot or FA should not get bumped by an (ASA, Pinnacle, ect.) parent trying to get to work to fly Delta passengers anymore than an (ASA, Pinnacle, ect.) pilot or Fa trying to get to work to fly Delta passengers. And save the we elect to live out of base speech, everyone's not moving.

And for each pilot that lives in base, they should get at least 36 confirmed positive space tickets to be used each year. Sounds good to me.

Gee Maxcackel, Being that I don't know you, I have to think that you are somewhat of a bigot by your choice of words. I think there is an h in getto. Good luck with your commute.
