Forgive me if this has been said before:
I have heard that the company is going to look or is looking at gateway-home basing. I dont know the validity to this but I have heard it a few times around Atl. TEN |

This is the kind of stuff we need in the next contract. If they don't want commuters, make it easier to move. |

On top of it, the company really prefers pilots commute and do not take the moving benefit.
I was discussing an instance when I called in honest but was charged with the ticket tax on the pass with a CP. When he mentioned that I could also move to base (MSP) I reminded him that we save the company millions per year in moving costs AND they could move flying around at will so we added flexibility. He didn't argue the point, or at least let it go:D All right, I'm out.......gotta take Joe Momma to breakfast Ferd |

I don't believe 90% of those were not by choice.
Being junior at an airline that has 12,000+ pilots in a faltering economy with aircraft retirements and base realignments is a lot different then being junior at DAL 15-20 years ago. |

Well come back down to junior land and you'll get a taste of reality. Many junior guys were kicked around a lot between the APA & AE system, especially once DAL decided to park our 747-200's, then move 320's out of MSP, & start parking DC9's. If I told you before the AE results were published that a pilot in the bottom 99% of the seniority list would be displaced from DTW DC9 to NYC 7er would you have believed that?

I was willing to take his 7er slot, until it was NYC. :D
I was floored at how junior the ER A seat went there. I am not sure I would even bid it to sit reserve on it. Those 0500 reports at LGA always seem to pop up  |

Sitting reserve on the ER 88 or 73N in NYC is something I would avoid at all costs. Three airports with flying going out at all hrs. Been there done that and it we not pleasant to get from LGA to EWR for a min time call out. Especially with not car.
