Cliff,
I guess I must be one of the rarities. I know someone (Delta pilot) firsthand that had their daughter abducted and murdered by strangers. You're correct that the vast majority of abductions are done by family members, but I don't believe the statistics support your point of view that the number is "almost zero." The small percentage of abductions done by strangers is quite often fatal. Lose a child. Then maybe you'll pay attention. Or you can spout platitudes. Is it me or do we have some creep here? Let's talk about our favorite cookie recipe while we are at it? |
Hi.
I am sorry that your friends lost their child. Earth is often a terrible place, and deaths happen every day, from a variety of causes. The point of my post, was to try and focus people on what is important. Should you spend several hours worrying about your child being abducted by strangers, or should you spend that time buying them a helmet for bike/scooter/skateboard/rollerblade riding? You should spend the time and effort on buying them a helmet, as their chances of dying without a helmet are multitudes higher than that they will die in an abduction. Lightining safety and swimming/water safety are two other areas that are worth spending your time on, as they kill lots of people every year in the US. Let's not even start with the non-seatbelt people worrying about their children getting abducted! Our children need education on a number of important things, and wasting time on non-important issues are counter-productive. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend's child, and God Bless YOU! cliff NBO |

Hi!
There are NOT lots of child abductions in Detroit, or anywhere else in the US, for that matter. Let's not add to the un-substantiated media frenzy! cliff NBO FWIW, get west of 275 it starts to get nice, west of 23 and it's like a whole different state.....but only if you are junior to me :) |

What they provide to fatten you up at the Double Tree aint half bad.
Since we threw $300,000,000.00 plus down the hole in the Midwest Airlines operation, least we could have done is taken their cookie concept. I'd rather smell cookies baking from the first class ovens than three day old airport carry out Chinese from the A line's bag cooler. I almost called maintenance because I thought the stink had to be a hydro..oil..ant leak, but then the packets of soy sauce and orgin of the smoke assured me this was well.... forward to 36 seconds into the clip... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4I83Gfs3Ec Still want cookies? |

No, no, no, no, NO!!!! Nestle's recipe needs 2 tablespoons of water added to the mix. Trust me ... your cookies will be moist instead of dried out hard crisps like that Chips A'hoy crap.
