Super 92,

Posts 7184 and 7188 have suggested some very eloquent, lucid, and poignant thinking. You will bring great credit upon Delta Air Lines and are a welcome addition. Cheers to a fellow academic :)

Glad to be here! :D

I didn't realize DAL was the symbol for Royal Dutch Airlines.............. and all this time I thought it was KLM. God I'm slow :)

Those should help this thread "bounce" back.

So, the thread has been pretty quite lately. I do like the latest "bounce" however!

We were hot on the Compass issue a few months ago. Recent events have me thinking about the entire DCI issue again. So I pose a few questions for you to chew on.

What do you think about a resolution requiring all DCI carriers, be required to hire at the same standards as Delta Air Lines?

What do you think about pushing the issue with ALPA to require all airline pilots to possess an ATP qualification at a minimum for employment?

Not trying to flame, but is there any validity to my thought process here? Would raising the hiring requirements not only increase the safety of the industry, but also help erect a barrier to entry? What do you guys think?

Gulfstream and ERAU would just raise their tuition fees to "commensurate" the higher qualification required to get into one of their regional "pardners".
