+1 from a Shuttle America pilot hired before things went wacko here. Trying to go ANYWHERE else and hopefully DL when things pick up. Anyone know if Delta likes Omni guys?

Then wanted to know if there was anything he could do. really? third sick call in a year and I need to be called by a chief pilot? ***

Anyone know if min time between theaters applies to PCS or is it PBS only?

BTW, you're welcome for the flow through agreement we kept in place for you. Maybe you should have stayed at Piedmont. Perhaps you'd be better off there?

Really? At least you haven't changed your humble ways.

If anybody else gets a call, make sure you get their name, and keep notes of what was said. After you call ALPA to report the incident, I'd also make a call to the FAA at 1 800 FLY SAFE, and let them know the company is pressuring you to fly while you are ill, lest you attract negative attention from your supervisors. I've seen this crap before and the FAA won't abide it.

It is a new policy, and the MEC sent out a bulletin about three weeks ago detailing your responsibilities to them. You should give them the general nature of your illness.

As I understand it, it is 48 hrs for PBS and 24 hrs for PCS. ( I could be wrong on this one though) Let me pull up the PWA, that is if I can before the thunderstorms knock out the power)

It's a two way street. If someone has nothing but snide remarks about my pilot group, they won't get any respect from me.

Is that legal under the laws of HIPPA? What happens if you are tired/depressed and just don't feel like flying (a totally legitimate use of sick time)? This is not a good trend for the industry.

Depressed is a whole different animal wrt to pilots and I would be very careful in using that.
Tired, falls under fatigue here at DAL. Now if you are tired because you had a head cold and could not sleep all night, then realize what is the culprit.

Read the memo sent out by your union. It is what is allowed per the PWA. You can just tell them that you are sick. It states "general nature" not "specific" illness. They can require you to get a doctor's note per the PWA, but have not been doing that. That does not mean that they may not start.
You can always state that you lack the confidence to pass gas. :D

They have seen sick time spike, and want to address it. They are aware of the HIPPA laws and will go no where near something that is a violation of your rights.
