You need to look at Virgin America.
10yr CA/FO $133/$87 I'm sure they're 'siphoning off' our pax too. BTW, you're welcome for the flow through agreement we kept in place for you. Maybe you should have stayed at Piedmont. Perhaps you'd be better off there? As far as my personal angle, I have no desire to work for a company which lacks the scope/spine to prevent their management's subsidizing of failed competitors. It is absolutely in my best interest to see that resolved regardless of where I decide to hang my hat. Got me all figured out now, don't ya?! |

The difference between Frontier and Virgin America is that Delta's labor costs currently allow Delta to pay Republic/Frontier, and in fact continue to grow that partnership. The downside for you is that even though Frontier could not stand on its own due to SWA/Unical, that nice little (and ever expanding) subsidy given to shuttle america/chataqua on a FFD basis is enough to keep that sinking ship afloat.

You also have NO idea if F9 is being kept afloat by the FFD contracts from DAL. It's pure speculation on your part, & if it were true I suppose BB wouldn't have needed concessions from Frontier pilots. You accuse Delta pilots of having no spine, but I don't see you standing up for scope or better wages. |

Now you could sit back and demand Delta pilots do that for you guys. That way RAH would implode and be left with no alternative but to sell Frontier off and you guys would be freed. Or you can do it yourself? It's completely in your self interest and power to do so. Collapse RAH. Or you could continue to post like an ass under the belief that Delta pilots posting here really care about what Frontier is doing out of an airport that is not even our hub and never will be. If you want to have a constructive dialogue be constructive. Give us ammo for an STS fight, not a feeble attempt to poke us in the eye that Frontier is paid less and undercutting us and will soon takeover the world or something - right after Frontier is ousted from Denver by a 737 only airline who pays more than double what Frontier/RAH does. BTW, if pay mattered like you think it does then why is SWA getting larger and larger in DEN while Frontier pilots vote on pay cuts?

The truth is, Delta is funding RAH which is funding Frontier but from the looks of it the whole thing will just collapse on its own under the weight of competition from SWA and UCAL.
It's not what we want as pilots, we want this whole multi certificate STS thing ended now but it's not a priority with our union and especially not going into section 6 and dealing with the DPA rebellion and the fact that Shuttle and CHQ will just be replaced with Mesaba/Surely Jet/Pinnacle/Compass et. al. I think it's a dangerous precedence to allow multi-certificates to operate like RAH does even if one believes RAH + Frontier won't last. |

RUMOR says the triggering metric is statistical.
2 standard deviations from the mean or greater are getting called. (For math gurus its the Empirical Rule equating to about 5% of the group) No word on what happens if more pilots call in the sick and the standard deviation changes. END RUMOR Sorry, fixed it to read the Empirical rule, a little rusty on sadistics. |

Why not just let the answering machine pick up. No requirement in the PWA that says we have to answer the phone...Maybe have some fun by changing your greeting to..."sorry, I am sick and unable to take your call...(fill in the blank here with best smart %^& remark!!)

Phuz, for the reasons J29 mentioned below the RAH system is legal under our ALPA created contract.

You've gotta love how Flight Plan somehow became the Howgozit...

Alaska hiring news: Interviews to begin as soon as next month. Estimated hiring numbers upped from 200 to 370 through 2014. Next bid due out Friday, bigger then expected, with a chance for newhire position vacancies. A suggestion of 787's for Asia was enthusiastically received, but not in the tea leaves for the next several years.
^^^^^ Wow, the nation's fastest growing major airline is doing great! I'm glad we could help them out by filling in their thin routes with DAL pax. If the numbers above prove true, the Alaska guys hired this fall will be 20% up the list by 2014! That's going to be painful if we merge and the SLI goes anywhere near relative. Am I jealous? Oh maybe a little. And I know, DALPA, "we could always quit and go to work there." Let's tighten up the codeshares and scope in CY12! Just a friendly weekly reminder from your neighborhood FlyZ. |
