you say that now, but if you get into natco before December you can get the nwa training syllabus instead of the eQual castrated syllabus.

Unfortunately I believe it starts 01 Oct:eek:

I'm intrigued, and I don't doubt the story, just intrigued by it. But years and years ago (maybe in the mid 80s) was there a guy hired by Delta who decided to go elsewhere and told his (squadron?) buddy just to go in his place. So the guy shows up out of nowhere for indoc and was never interviewed. But they needed pilots and let him continue and then sent him off for a quick interview and hired him.

Urban legend?

Ask 80, he should be coming up for training soon on the 320.

CD based training is just fine and simple.

CBT: "How many wings does the Airbus A320 have? A) 1, B) 2, C) 3, D) 4?

Pilot: 2. Wait 1. Wait are we counting the stab? Or the rudder, as a vertical wing? Crap!!!!

Maybe, I cannot imagine sitting reserve indefinitely covering three bases while commuting. To me that sounds like too much work, esp with those 0500 reports in LGA.

There sure are better places to be... But the crews up there are awesome and most of the trips are great. That to me makes it worth it. If you have kids or a household with "normal" hours, forget about it !

Thanks for the info. I just read all the PCS documents. I want to swap trips, not drop any without a replacement. Will PCS drop my trip and not pick one up by accident when using the swap function if reserve coverage is adequate and no trips are available?

No.. the swap with pot function is specific rotation drop with specific rotation pick up.

Does anyone have the exact official dates that Delta furloughed the first 400, and when they were recalled? (the 2001 Furlough, roughly Nov 01, and recalled roughly 28 Dec 06, but maybe officially sometime in Feb 07?)

I believe the first furlough was in October 1992. It was announced first at the ALPA BOD Meeting in Miami then a few days later by the CPO calling pilots at home. IIRC Bill Brown was MEC Chairman but I might be one chairman off.

I know it was Oct or Nov 01... TK went through recall indoc class in early Feb 07... might have started in late Jan.
