EXTRA? one doesn't purchase "extra" insurance. The issue of retiring and stuck paying the bridge premium (that being Delta's share they when you are employed) is very much an issue the MEC is aware of. But... To look at the flip side---do we (corporately speaking--not as a Seniority List Pilot) really want to assist age 60+ pilots when we are facing a large pilot shortage?

Question about the survey:

Are the results of the survey ever published to the pilot group?
Are we given any feedback on how many pilots submitted the survey?

Just curious if we, as a pilot group, are given any feedback with regards to what the majority of our peers think is important in the next contract. Or will the survey results be for "internal eyes" only.

so who did a better job of putting money in their pockets:

Pilots who negotitated 5%/4%/4%/4% over 4 years*, OR

Pilots who demanded 53% and got NOTHING over 4 years.

It's not about what you are worth, its about what you can negotiate.

Just took the time to do the first draft of my survey. Spent a lot of time checking the "absolutely critical" boxes.

Please make judicious use of the "Absolutely Crucial" option, using it only for desired changes without which the new PWA would be unacceptable regardless of any other gains.

So much for judicious....

Sorry if you feel that way, but I am convinced (by experience) that our PWA is substandard in several areas to include scope, compensation, work rules, medical, sick leave and retirement. I am not prepared to take less in one area of the contract to compensate for others. It is time for our pilot group to take back what we have invested to make the company successful (at one point even liquid). I do not necessarily advocate taking a militant stance and I am willing to allow "constructive engagement" to work for awhile. However, I will not hesitate to let my union know what I expect of the next PWA.

Actually thought that sentence was kind of funny. Found myself clicking the absolutely critical boxes more often then what I would consider judicious.

Sorry to misunderstand. Glad to see we are on the same page. Hopefully about 11,000 more surveys turn out like ours.

One advantage of having to get up every morning during the week: Stephanie Abrams bringing me the weather. It appears she might take some motivating for her to get her 80 on after what I did to Jenna Fischer, but I think I can pull a newK mind trick:

What is she saying? That I would bring an EF-4 to her room?

Just saw Moneyball. There was a good line towards the end... something to the effect of "You don't do it for the money... you do it for what the money says about you: It says, 'you're worth it'."
