That's too bad. It would have been nice to see you volunteer to help out and make sure the survey met your personal expectations. After all, its all about you!

It's too bad that they used the last two NWA surveys and the DAL c2k surveys to help construct this one. Those Comm and NC guys sure do head off in their own direction and disregard proven ways of doing things......

Huh?

All kinds of room for comments, and NO LIMIT on the number of items that are "absolutely critical"......

I've seen plenty of complaints, but nobody has provided examples of a more effective way to gauge the priorities of 12,000 different people...

Shiz;

I like your input. You are often direct and correct.

However, we are limited on our comments to 750 characters. The instructions in the survey says to judiciously use absolutely critical. Overall, the survey gets a B+, but the criticisms are so far fair and correct IMO.

I does appear that the survey has some carefully crafted language that omits important factors and/or manages expectations. It may be a case of "how do we ask this question best?"

If we were growing organically, there would likely be less criticism, but we are not. I haven't budged in what I can bid/hold in years, with at least several more years ahead where that continues to be the case. Love is lost.

I am not interested in getting into the "what this profession has historically paid" discussion, but I grow weary of the bankruptcy standard we have accepted for far too long.

DAL employs argueably the best pilot group available. Our negotiators know this. That is all the leverage we should need.

I'm having no luck embedding this, so I'll just post the link.

2011 Valdez May Day Fly-In STOL Competition - YouTube

My mother-in-law sent it to me, so it's not underboob (sorry guys), but it's fairly cool nonetheless. STOL competition in Alaska. The guy that won was at 78 feet, and that's takeoff and landing distance combined.

Rumor Alert. I dont know if anyone has heard this but: More Early Outs are being offered to the pilots at the beginning of the year to mitigate the mass exodus coming up in the future.

Only a Rumor, conveyed to me by a non-rumor spreading person. Take it for its entertainment/suspense value.:D

No early out package will be enough to mitigate the upcoming retirements in the next few years. The earlier the better so I'm all for it but the company had better be planning ahead to stay ahead of the hiring curve.

Agreed. We know there is an exodus coming, and we want to attract the best candidates period. Especially if the long proclaimed shortage actually happens.

What better way to attract the best than an industry leading contract. Increased scope, pay and workrules. And of course it couldn't hurt if the FAs all looked like her:

Well, I took the survey. I give it a B. I thought they should have included a summary field for final thoughts that would allow you to cover areas that weren't covered in the survey.

I have always thought that DALPA has concentrated on the pay rate to exclusion of good work rules and guarantees. It's not how much I make an hour rather, how hard I have to work and what is in my paycheck each month.

It has been my impression that NWALPA was much better at the work rule end of things.

This was something that I wanted to emphasize. Now, I have to track someone down to provide this imput.
