NYC M88 will have vacancies, not surpluses on the next AE to staff the additional MD90's coming on line.

Bigger moves than they are planning.....

Agreed, but it'll still shake up some lives.

I wonder what the DTW construction for the next two years that was mentioned is going to be?

With the mention of the 744 being possibly close to weight critical on DTW-Japan, I'd imagine 22L is going to be out of service for part of it.

Two words. Rent 'em

Yeah but it does seem like a waste of money to displace pilots with all the bennies involved when the airframe is headed to the desert anyway.. I guess it's all part of that balance sheet thingy that they do.

22L/4R is slated to be reconstructed sometime in the near future.

Click on" Runway 4R/22L and Associated Taxiways Reconstruction Finding of No Significant Impact Decision and Environmental Assessment" It's a 13mb pdf.

Report said construction will take place during summer (March 2012) and last 13-16 months (runway will open during winter months, than close again to finish taxi-way work in 2013).

Not only is there little downside, but it gives more people access to "premium" pay without having to "game the system".

Greenslips would still exist and offer the same potential as before.

Payrates and workrules is how we need to make our 70-75 hours pay.
Nobody should have to fly over 75 to try to "recoup" pay.

Again, lots of chaff out there, like what it cost/hour for a delta pilot.
There is no investor conference where pilot cost/hour is a metric.

We have augmented crews and initial training when switching fleets/seats. Delta spends a lot of money on pilots not producing ASMs; and yet the Delta pilot portion of CASM is 30% below Southwest's.

Offer the company savings by having pay-banding and there is lots of headroom in the financials.

Cheers
George

George;

The problem is that is such a teensy weentsy piece. Someone might be diligent enough to have tabulated a list of these sorts of improvements, but if others are like me, I think of it when I think of it, but dont write it down.

If anyone has come up with a punch list of contract improvements, I would sure like it PMed to me so I can have a more structured list from which to work.

It might not be a bad idea to post it too, IDK.

FedEx them to your hotel. Works great and I think it's fairly cheap.

Wish they could spare some change and fix Taxiway M or whatever is parallel to 3R. It's a washboard!
