Come on Carl...How could you say it was just your opinion when everyone knows that Delta pilots are the best and most experienced pilot group on the planet?
You can not argue with facts... Carl |
I now know I am destined to be confused for the rest of my career. :D
Ah... A Fully Qualified Captain! (And part-time mushroom.) |

Been there, can't do that. But seriously, there are people at this airline who don't commute. And now we have people who have moved from DFW, CVG, MCO, etc... to ATL and commute from ATL. At some point, we have to stop subsidizing the company's whims. As I've said, commuters provide them marketing flexibility. The company can't have it both ways, helping out commuters is just the price of flexibility. Ferd |
Well said! As I've said, commuters provide them marketing flexibility. The company can't have it both ways, helping out commuters is just the price of flexibility. Ferd Thanks Ferd. As a now-involuntary commuter, I and MANY others don't need a lot of cushy ATL-like perks (No TSA 'Love Rubs' or luggage lift-and-screen' speed bumps, among others. ), on our way to our chosen profession, but having reasonable, capable aircraft between our home airport and domicile airport would not only help us, the commuters, but also open markets and attract passengers from some of the other airlines we compete against. Also, by providing the lift from out-station to hub, DAL will have a better handle on crews making their trips. As is...? And we ain't getting younger...I'm just sayin'. (P.S. 'No Pity for the Kitty!') |
In 3 1/2 years, I would have had to move four times and three would not have been by choice. I'm not willing to put my family through that many moves in such a short period of time. For me... commuting is NOT a choice. After this bid, I'll probably be MD'd AGAIN.

That still doesn't explain it to me hoser. We're the lowest paid pilots in our intl JV's. You'd think they'd be using as a whipsaw against them. But instead, our management chooses the higher priced option. For whatever reason, we are our management's last resort.

Rough math is about a 35K-40K a year pay difference to be a line holder. With kids in school, taking a pay cut like that is a non starter. I will just put my card in and let the chips fall where they may. Probably NYC 73N. |

This is just another example of how incredibly bad our contract is. But it's an even worse example of our management's alleged care for employees and their families. Carl |
