I had a 23:54 layover from 30 Nov. to 01 Dec. but that doesn't matter now. I'm going to wait until tonight to make sure I get most of tomorrow off!:D That is, if I'm correct. It wouldn't be the first time I've been "educated" otherwise!!
I'll let you know how it goes.... Denny |

CVG and the city of Cincinnati went down this same path with Delta. Look what happened there. Now all the news stories in Cincinnati are about "where did all our air service go." Maybe someone should send the MSP Chamber of Commerce the address of the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce and they could get some lessons learned. Support your hub or it will go away.

No.........Never tip in Japan. I don't understand it either, but they consider it an insult.

They consider it an insult because work is so revered in Japan. The fact that you would come to their establishment is considered an honor for them. Tipping can come off as you thinking they don't make enough money or that their business needs a little extra help. They charge what they think is a fair price for everything. I actually wish we could adopt that in the US, because I personally hate tipping. Just charge me what the dinner costs you to make plus a nice profit, and show me where to sign the check! After I get my frickin reading glasses on that is...
Carl I completely agree! Has anyone else noticed that nearly everyone expects a tip these days. I just took my kids to get some ice cream the other day and I noticed a tip jar in front of the register. Why the hell would I tip you for selling me ice cream! I have even seen a tip jar at some fast food restaurants. |

My favorite is the tip jar at Starbucks, you are already paying twice what a cup of coffee should cost, and you have some arrogant little prick with a bad attitude, tattoos and lip piercings selling it to you...and God forbid you ask him a question!
I'm happy to tip, but only for GOOD SERVICE, which has become very rare these past few years, but they think the tip should be there, no matter what. |

They also tried on several occasions to heavily tax jet fuel. Delta beat those tax grabs back by stating they would down size and move the flying and Ohio backed down
I'm sure you know this, but the CVG airport is in Kentucky... It was the state of Kentucky, not Ohio, that tried to raise the jet fuel tax on Delta (and right after Delta had completed a big expansion at the airport). IIRC there was an agreement that actually raised the per gallon tax but the total jet fuel tax (from Delta to Kentucky) was capped at something like $16 million per year. |
