Of course they don't mention all of the non-stop destinations that can be reached from MSP on DAL. They just want "more competition" (lower fares). As if getting more flights from the likes of UAL/AA/LCC/WN would provide more non-stop destinations...

There was a similar article in Sunday's S-T in which they only mentioned, in the last paragraph, how most passengers are fine with the higher price as long as their flights don't have stops. Gotta sell papers, right?

Memphis might want that address too. My mom lives there, and tells me that she knows many people that will drive to LIT or BNA because the fares are lower. Of course MEM doesn't have much international service (I believe 1 AMS flight) but like you said, if they don't support it, it too will vanish. Of course there's always SWA that can come in and save the day. :rolleyes:

Didn't WN have to throttle back a few years ago when they went in there and thought they could run NWA out? I guess you have to go big or go home.

As I recall AMEX provided a billion in financing for DAL to exit CH11.

For you reserve gurus out there. I bid reserve for Dec. Had a carryover trip started as a regular line holder on 30 Nov. and it ended on Dec. 3rd. I've been on long call since then. I go on off days starting sunday. My understanding is that I have to have 24 hours free of duty before I can be sent on a trip because I've either been on a trip or on long call since 30 Nov. I've checked my schedule and they have not given me one.

Now for the question: After today (on long call) am I essentially on off days because that 24 hours would give me saturday off?

Want some perspective before I call scheduling. My son has a wrestling tournament out of town that I want to go to tomorrow. Thanks,

I agree with the local MSP rag rarely having much nice to say about us (then or now). They need to be careful what they wish for and the business travelers need to write letters to the editor telling them to $TFU.

Plus one other statistic I wish they had mentioned out of the Humphrey terminal. What is the total number of departures now with Southwest vs back when Sun Country was trying to be a scheduled airline?
