I had a good one last week. Attila told us to speed up by 18 mins.
AC, does anyone know what Atilla cost per year? If its only 10% of what FPS2 cost in inefficiencies...not good.

I can guess based upon what I heard, but it really does not matter. We renewed it and get to experience it in all of our bases now.

Of course I make every attempt to speed up if it asks me to!

But not on a hard fly day

Speaking of, I had a hockeypilot44 sighting in ops on friday.

So, you've seen me too!

I've heard that it was renewed despite desires to get rid of it.

Someone's desk justification on horribly false "savings" numbers.

You may have faith in our contract, lawyers, and DALPA's spine, but based on precedent, I do not.

See also "Delta Connection" paint discussion in a parallel thread.
This is one of the big problems I see with ALPA. We get our EF&A from ALPA National resources. We get our legal advice from ALPA National. There's just too much possibility that the info/advice/legal language we get is influenced by ALPA National's responsibility to represent ALL of its member pilots, many of whom have interests that are diametrically opposed to ours.

And then we have examples like the RAH thing and the Delta Connection paint thing. Symptoms of a problem that I don't see how one can deny.

You would have to do ALPA work and deal with these people to understand that what you are accusing these people of is totally baseless and false. They do not sit there and tell us that we need to sell scope, and all of this other crud. They give legal advice, and advise us or the ramifications of actions. Legal ramifications, and what precedence is. They do not tell is that we would hurt X or Y. We then tell them what they are going to do, and they do their job, which is to minimize our legal risk as much as possible.

That is seriously NOT the case shiznit. Our own union isn't even willing to say that. I appreciate the fact that it's your opinion, but it's just your opinion.

If that was the case, there would have been no need for the addition to the policy manual that I posted previously. When it comes to our scope section, other bodies are part of our negotiations process. Period.

I've never tried to convince you of that because I'm not asserting that. ALPA doesn't benefit from more RJ flying at Delta. ALPA benefits by representing all sides, collecting dues from all sides, and letting the chips fall where the marketplace decides.

See above.

This is what makes you unconviceable shiz, you don't even read what I've written. It's not the language that is secret! It's the meetings themselves that are secret. We will not be allowed to see the transcripts of anything said in those meetings or Moak's influence on the process.

No such posts directly. Only that I never wrote a single post asking anyone to participate in the call to action on this issue, and my numerous other posts about understanding that our management and our union both agree that we get flying only as a last resort. Only after DCI is maxed out, and JV's are imbalanced to their max. This is just another example of why I mistrust my own union immediately, until all the facts show otherwise. Too bad it has to be that way, but it is.
