This is a great tool when it comes to QOL on reserve. Not sure why they won't go for this, I sent it to the SOT and didn't even see it on the list of possible improvements. I've also mentioned it to reps more than a dozen times.

I also don't know why we can't move reserve days to within 72 hours. I wanted to be on call this Monday, reserves available were almost to 0 for the day on Sunday morning. Can't move a reserve day to that day to help them and me out because it is within 72 hours. Stupid rule.

Holy crap ...

Remember when I brought up our hubs and O&E traffic?

Report: Delta, US Airways, TPG Capital mull bids for AMR - Dallas Business Journal

I was told this by a management type a few days after AMR bankruptcy filing ... crazy!!!

ACL, I was connecting the dots when I didn't know I was connecting dots.

Too Tall,

See your point, but often no one bids trips on yellow slips. Having your preferences honored is a big deal IMHO. Any certainty a guy can get on reserve helps, even if you're going to be flying.

It also appears it might be easier to go over if you're flying. I'd much rather fly 75 hours than 69.8.

Also, I think getting raw scope for SC helps position us for making SC credit into pay in C2012.

Reserve is definatley getting better around here. When all the SOT stuff is implemented we will be close to having one of the best systems. If in section 6 we can up the reserve guarantee, get extra credit for SC, and maybe have the ability to not do SC at all if we don't want to, then it will be impossible for guys below 60% to even hold reserve. I'd be on reserve the rest of my career if we had all that stuff.

You must be at the wrong base. My RAW is still 0 and I haven't flown since 28 DEC and I have this weekend off and I was hired in '10.

Must be, I have been on short call or flown every day in JAN that hasn't been an X day. Starting my third 3day tomorrow for the month.

Huge variation depending if a reserve can hold weekends off.

Whatever. Ask the UAL pilot that's paid $35,000 less than you on the same aircraft while having 1400+ guys on the street if he'd think it was "treading water."

Oh, there have been increases or partial restoration (whichever term soothes your psyche) every year since we left bankruptcy, so your baseline statement is, well, baseless. How's AMR's 52% increase coming?

OK, then let's sign a 100 year deal at 4-5% per year. The dollar amounts "over the life of" would be mind blowing. 100 bucks today would be over 13,000 by the end of the contract. A win so huge we wouldn't need any other gains and in fact could justify relief in some areas to help pay for it!

SWA is the floor. The absolute floor, from which negotations can even start with any amount of credibility.

I just want reserves to be paid the same as line holders.

You want reserves to get a lower guarantee?

Not lower than SWA's guarantee.
