Jumpseat
Does anyone know if we can jumpseat on Bahamasair?
I'd agree if we staffed weekends the same as weekdays, we don't anymore.
So on monday/tuesday those with 4-5 days of availability are the ones with weekends off. The bottom pilot there is around 50% so they're #1 on the RUO, give or take. It's how it is on the first week of the month but now it'll be like this for 3 weeks possibly longer.
Now again all of this is negated with appropriate size buckets but if the buckets are large they're taking from senior pilots to give to the most senior pilots. We could change the mantra from you'll be senior one day to you just need to be #1.

And now, I think the reserve system has been made even more complicated. All I wanted was a system with transparency and one to where I could make an educated guess as to when I was going to be used again. Period.
Now, I have no idea what is going on. I'm sure I'll figure it out at some point.
In my current category, I rarely fly on reserve. But I am swapping bases and keeping the same equipment. I just talked to a fella with the same seniority as me and he said he gets slammed dunked every month ... flying just under 70s each month.
Whether I sit home or fly, I just want to know what to expect -- especially since I am a quasi-commuter (can sit home for LC, but definitely have to come in for SC).

So I guess if you are senior on reserve it behooves you to put all your X days at the end of the month when you are more likely to be used.

fwiw, on ATL88B 43 out of 49 pilots available tomorrow or 5 days or less have a raw score < 80. If you take into account that each pilot sits 2 SCs by now, then even by adding 10 points to each pilot you have 40 out of 49 with raw scores below 80. Meanwhile today a weekend, 0 pilots. 2 pilots are on the list but they're probably flying. Daily coverage shows 5 out of 8 trips today were GS.
Didn't know where to look....does anyone know if we can Yellow/Green slip while on vacation? Or can you get a Y/G that would take you into Vac? Lastly if Vac was awarded to a Res line and you already had that day off will you be paid for that Vac day?
Thanks All....Baja.

Rumor alert. Just had a DL jumpseater tell me he recently had a linecheck and the checkairman said he just went to some big linecheck meeting in Mecca and a VERY high up guy stated we were looking to maybe buy back the DFW hanger and maybe get some gates back. Aren't we getting some MD90s this year?
