Delta just announced 35 additional furloughs including voluntary packages. However you must be on the Comair subsidiary list.

This has nothing to do with restoration - it's a negotiated benefit. I'll celebrate anything I can get.

Gin and juice, baby, gin and juice. That's what I'm buying with mine.

With my mind on my money and my money on my mind.

I sure like the bluegrass version the best. I heard it one overnight in BNA from some group at Tootsie's. I had never heard it and come to find out it's been out for a while. I was laughing so hard.

Timbo,

That is exactly what I was thinking as the only way it would make sense for them to offer this, just did not go into that idea on my post. Wanted to see what others thought before presenting that idea. But it makes sense for the opener that they would like to present the ole "sky is falling" routine this year to coincide with contract talks. Wash, rinse, repeat!!

More airplane porn.

That's a loooong jet. I saw Cathay had "theirs" in ATL too the other day. Cargolux I guess has it coming in as well so 3 airlines flying 747-800Fs into the ATL?

It's by a group called The Gourds, although it's often credited to another band called Hayseed Dixie, famous for bluegrass covers of songs like Fat Bottomed Girls, Cat Scratch Fever, and You Shook Me All Night Long.

I guess my goal of attaining significant improvements across the board, and being willing to fight for those improvements, is somehow at odds with your perverse view of a benevolent, God-like Delta, who, with DALPA at its right hand, will always take care of you.

Folks like you are why we'll never be able to negotiate the contract we want.
Not really. All the ridiculing is self-inflicted. You're pretending that those who don't want to gid rid of ALPA at Delta, by chosing DPA, are somehow against improvements. This presupposes that everything that happened to us (and the rest of the industry) is due to having a poor union, not the leverage and particular financial situation fo the respective companies.

A lot of us agree that some people or policies have failed us, but acknowledge the fact we were negotiating from the business end of the barrel, and wish to move forward now that fortunes have changed. A lot of us want improvements, but don't want to go through the pain of letting Brand X [deleted] things up just to prove that they too can [deleted] things up, and royally too.

A lot of us also know that there is a thread for what you're going after, and are just trying to focus on finding the fine line between enough underboob, and too much of the new rules.

For now, you're getting redundant and tiresome. And ridiculous. All by yourself.

One could infer that this was my own private idea, but honestly, I could careless. At least we aren't talking about the "F" word...
Today the Strategic Planning expert said we were overstaffed by 4% for summer flying. In reply to questions about picking up more time for better pay one of the Reps replied if we flew more, the conversation could turn to furloughs in this environment. ... Not that he was prognosticating furloughs, but the capacity pull downs seem to have no logical end in sight

I was thinking that getting widebodies out of the mod lines and eventually catching up with our half of the AF/FLM joint venture might turn things around. We are making money and getting metal, even if it is used Douglas jets no else on the planet wants. I expected a net neutral in 2012 with the first real positive bids coming near the fourth quarter.

Instead, it is looking like many of us are going back to career jeopardy performing experimental test flight & design work to finish the MD88's initial design phase through incident reports and NTSB recommendations ... and that we'll be grateful for that opportunity.

Alfa, chill out. Let J and More Bacon talk it out, they're professionals.
