Sigh, I had high hopes that we could point and say these two pay the same but for most in the FL scheme they ain't seeing a pay raise for a year or two or I guess more...

But just repaint it SWA colors, same difference.

On second thought, Hydrogen. We could practice parking it in New Jersey.

And I'd do THIS all day.

Or buy one of these and take divers around the Great Barrier.

And how do you embed youtube videos?

Father-in-law's boss owned one down in Miami. Except for added pax seats behind the cockpit and the Bose headsets, it looked pretty much like it did flying patrols in WWII. I asked what it cost to fly. Said he instructed his accountant to never tell him, unless it was time to sell. Still owned it when he died.

Talked to the Dixie Wing pilot at Sun 'n Fun a few years back. He flew the SBD and the P-51 at airshows. He's a defense attorney, and a furloughed Air Atlanta B-727 FO.

It's been a couple years, but as I recall, it's actually not that expensive to become a pilot for them. You join, then make a donation (@$2k?) and they'll train you for the PT-26. After you get some time under your belt, you can bid for the SBD or the P-51. The only trick is you need 200 hours in a T-6 to fly the SBD or the P-51. He had an attorney friend who owned one, so he only had to pay for gas.

Sounded like if you're the type who's willing to wipe oil off the cowling and sell t-shirts at an airshow, you'd find a way after a few years.

Just yanking your chain, T. Sort of. ;)

So tell me. How much of a pay increase do we need to make those numbers come out even or better?

Oh, and BTW... I totally get that theirs is a match and our is a contribution. You're right... I'd much prefer the contribution over the match. And when you factor in our brokerage link capabilities, yes, I would much rather have our retirement program. Fair enough?

Hey captainv,

Looks like you escaped Comair. Where is your greener pasture? :)

I'm cherry picking. I will take our retirement over SWA's. period. When the pay comes up it will by far be a better deal. And since you obviously do not know.. theirs is a match... ours is a contribution. Big difference.

Since you seem unmoved by the math lesson given by DAL88, what about SWAPA's scope? Would you not be willing to take a little less in DC to achieve SWAPA's incredible scope?

Differences training + FMS + a Digital Flight Guidance System. And a lot of procedures that are different from the old "north" way to the way Delta operates the 88.
Surely there's a DVD/home option to cover that. ;)
