So, today's the big day right? SWA's first ATL flights are supposed to be today. Anybody have a picture?

There are early morning departures from most (if not all) pilot domiciles. Those trips need to be covered...

I live in base and don't particularly enjoy 0-dark-thirty sign-ins. If my seniority allows me to hold trips with more gentlemanly sign-ins (AKA: commuter friendly) I will bid them if I want to. (I suspect many pilots who live in base will do so as well.)

I'm not out to screw someone, but sign-in time is one of the parameters I evaluate when I look at bidding. I'm not going to bid "crappy" trips so the more junior commuters have an easier commute.

If a commuting pilot don't have the seniority to hold commutable trips, perhaps they should consider bidding a category that allows them that ability.

Absolutely!

As a commuter I agree it is your right to sleep in:D I guess I've argued that the mix for commuters has more to do with the length/value of the trip. In other words higher value trips that cut down on the number of commutes that you do. If your junior, you get stuck with a hotel on one end or the other till you get more senior.

I've always looked for that one day, 30 hour trip, that is hopefully commutable on both ends......just can't seem to find too many:D

If DAL assumes those leases, I am sure they will have a DCI operator fly them. They are currently allowed to be outsourced under section 1. They will work well in NYC or SLC.

I flew parallel to the second arrival yesterday. They got 28, haha! We arrived on ramp 3 right after the first arrival got the fire truck hose down. I got a pic and will post it a bit later.

I hate early morning reports on day 1... Sorry commuters, I like the later sign ins. :). I don't care when it gets done, though.

I'd be interested if the so called "taxi speed" disparity is not as far as part as claimed. RJ'd to/from CAE to catch a 7x7 to Vegas last week. The DCI RJs were' haulin - especially from the "new" ATL runway where you can see BFE.

We can also count stray kittens :)

I didn't see any pilots with beards at the airport yesterday. You must have snuck through.

Mesa or Colgan.
