Now that ALPA has the time and inclination to waste its influence (and my dues money) to get FAs into the KCA program, my confidence has basically flat-lined.

Apparently, imminent Section 6 negotiations at its make-or-break airline, with a viable alternative nipping at its heels, is not enough to get ALPA to focus on its bread and butter.

Sounds to me like ACL, for all his infinite wisdom, has zero understanding about the QOL in the ME.

But that won't stop him (and his DALPA buddies?) from trying to make the connection in negotiations. This tactic is fraught with peril.

DALPA has nothing to do with it. Comparing us to EK and their earnings was something that Bar and I started talking about, so we both started looking in to their compensation structure etc. We also looked at other international carriers and how we compare as well.

I am looking at their earnings versus ours. As for QOL, I have family members over there and they have been there the better part of a decade. (Not EK but the region) I understand both the good and the bad.

RDC they fly ICAO regs. No flight time limits only duty limits.

What's your point? Who GAS about the Middle East? It has nothing to do with our contract, and even less to do with DALPA. Or is it that you just have to spew your donut agenda at every turn?

Although, I DO wonder why ACL has so much interest in M R Rats...

The interest was spiked by a discussion Bar and I had. We started comparing numbers and doing math on career earnings etc. Because we are sitting on our duffs at home it was something to do besides fold laundry and redo kids bedrooms. If I had another week off, I would work on break evens on a bunch of carriers versus DAL and a zero growth projection.

Simply put, just something to do on a rainy day.
