Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
That's a "good news / bad news" scenario. The good news is that they are staying and flying as our 130 seat jet until the 737-900's start to arrive.
The bad news is that our DC9 pilots are needed in position and will not be available to staff the MD88's. The MD90 arrivals will be staffed with a waterfall of displacements from the 747 / 777, 767, 737 & 320. Need 40 Captains / 20 FO's right away. Will eventually displace 200 pilots to staff the MD88 openings.
Any news on an Atlanta DC9 base? They were talking that MSP's pilots were needed in Atlanta. (Kinda makes me think about bidding the DC9 MSP and enjoying the credit time deadheading to my home town ... as well as being an ATL livin' green slip golden bouy.)

Spent a few days in Chengdu last summer. Had a blast. Had a descent Hooters which served Jack by the bottle... Not the shopping Mecca of Beijing.
Real progressive city with some good night life. Looks like a Nevada casino town with all the lights. New construction everywhere.
Very busy airport, almost all A320/737 or larger. Don't recall seeing anything smaller. KLM had a 744 in there. Lots of WBs.

Is it just me or has this website been blanking out for long stretches a lot lately?
BTW Jesse, spot on post, very L&G appropriate.

Hi Guys,
I have a Q about reserve....I got in off a 3-day trip, and blocked in at 00:43, just past midnight, which would have put me off duty at 00:58, two minutes shy of 01:00, on an XX day-off. Am I due an extra day off, as this rotation had me "on the clock" on one of my XX days? Much thanks!
Chuck

Had something similar happen a while ago. Answer is "no" you don't get an entire day paid-back to you.
The schedulers will do something lame (contractually legal) like giving you an extra hour or so "off" on your next reserve day. So instead of being available for reserve at midnight you won't be available for reserve until 0100 (or 0200, or something). I forget the specifics but it's not much of a good deal for payback since you were flown into an X day.
Hope this helps. Ain't reserve a blast?
Cheers

I do not suspect any manipulation what so ever.
Kindly don't take this personally (just got back from a Board meeting at our Church). It is amazing how some people (particularly those who don't itemize tax returns) think anyone with any money is up to shenanigans through the black art of third grade level math.

Thanks to our rapid expansion at LGA & United outsourcing, GoJets is having to hire Captains off the street. Terrific for Teamster's members, those who did not complete High School, and those with "interesting" criminal background checks. If you've got 4,500 hauling skydivers, or just penciled in a log book, and the ability to fog a mirror, Delta has a job for you! Delta's network guy described GoJets as the "best of the worst."
So anyone wanting information about this terrific opportunity flying Delta passengers, here's the place for the deets:

Oh' and GoJets pays 10% more than Delta mainline pays new hires with much lower health care costs. Wonderful furlough opportunity for those who just love flying jets in Delta colors.
Damned if this doesn't make me want to tell my mother, "... if you want to see your grandkids, you're going to have to fly to Dubai."
