With all those cuts, do we still actually fly to anywhere across the Atlantic besides AMS?

I know the OE recovery are back to the old way...ie no obligations. My questions is when do they "Have" to notify you that your trip has been taken for training?
I've been waiting patiently for 3 weeks to be notified and now I'm inside of 24hrs prior to show time and no call. Scheduling clerk says they run those at 7pm and doesn't know of a minimum time to notify (this will be inside of 12hrs in my case). If this is true what a crock....
If I was a commuter and had to come in then get notified and have to spend the night etc I'd be ****ed. In my case I'd like to put in a slip to get some much needed coin for my low/slow month and upcoming vaca, but I can't put a slip in until they show the trip dropped.
I'm grateful for getting back to the old way of doing things, but it sure would be nice to be notified 24 or at least 16hrs prior to duty in.

The company is obviously disinterested in honoring the 50/50% share of EASKs and is maxing out the carte blanche handed to them 'till March 41, 2014.
As a result WB flying is down and we will be displacing off the big jets in the upcoming March displacement bid.

Is that their view of constructive engagement?

Do we know that for sure?I hope I am wrong, but reading the protocol document under scope it talks about pax and combo pax/freight acft.It doesn't specifically mention cargo only acft.Hope I missed something reading it.

You assume that you need to recall everyone.

Say you got a bus that has 10 drivers and it's heading for a cliff. You have 6 guys who don't want to see the road ends in a cliff, and 4 that do. The 6 don't want to look at the road or even talk about it, because they all say "I'm an excellent driver".

The best solution is change out 2 of the drivers, not all 6. And you certainly don't try to move everyone to another bus while your moving, like what the DPA is trying to do.

[bad info]Yes, cargo capacity is what accounts for the "E" in EASK, Equivalent.
CDG ATL pure cargo ops are part of Bundle 1.[/bad info]

Tim, you are correct: Pure freighters aren't part of the JV, only belly and combo cargo...
The Equivalent Available Seat Kilometer (“EASK”) capacity value of each aircraft type is determined in a two-step calculation:
  • Seat density adjustment – seat counts are adjusted to a standard seat density per square foot of passenger cabin space
  • DL B767-300ER density of 9.2 square feet per seat used as standard rate
  • Cargo payload adjustment – volumetric payload capability of each aircraft type, less passenger baggage requirements, is converted into equivalent passenger seats
  • Conversion of one metric ton to two equivalent seats used as standard rate

Add to those DTW to Tokyo HND daily on the A332, and I just read PDX to AMS will be upgauged to an A333 from an ER and go daily, even into the Fall/Winter. ROR will also go year round now from NRT according to a lounge show. A lot of the Europe CNXd flights were 757ERs, and Delta didn't like the lack of extra cargo space when full of pax. A few routes still have the 75ER on them(like PIT CDG, KEF, Valencia, and Malaga) but most are gone. It really is
too bad.

Yeah, I left out some of the routes where daily 757 service was replaced by some days of the week 7ER flying, because it's capacity neutral. It isn't a manning neutral change...

You are correct on the cargo,

757 Equivalent Cargo 1
7ER Equivalent Cargo 22
388 Equivalent Cargo 22
744 Equivalent Cargo 25
332 Equivalent Cargo 25
765 Equivalent Cargo 29
333 Equivalent Cargo 31
340 Equivalent Cargo 31
772 Equivalent Cargo 32
773 Equivalent Cargo 45

Delta can easily fix the EASKs by introducing the 773 on JV routes and take advantage of 1.P.4. Note Two.

Cheers
George
