I'm looking at something more recent, like the last decade. 20 years ago they also had very cute FAs, but those around back then are still around today, and aren't as cute. Do you always look back 20 years at every analysis? The last 10 years have been good for SWAPA.
Bill, You ignore how SWAPA got where they are. After DALPA moved the curve way up with 737 Pay at 235 an hour SWAPA got the first big pay raise ever for their pilots. The brought their rate all the way up to 190 an hour. Over the last 11 years since then they have averaged about a 1 percent a year raise even though they worked for the most profitable airline in the US. Why they kept their rates when others failed to do so is simple. They never filed bankruptcy. Their management went to the casino and placed a 5 billion dollar wager and won! They skipped the entire fuel crises as a result. Hard to ask for pay cuts when your making huge profits. The management team at Delta on the other hand lost 5 billion dollars with 3 key mistakes. The purchase of ASA and Comair, 2 billion dollar stock buy back and selling owned fuel hedges. Thats a 10 billion dollar swing between Delta and SWA. I know somehow you will try and make that 10 billion dollar swing DALPA fault but sadly it was not. In the end the success of DALPA should be measured by what they salvaged from a near death situation. Overall we came out of this far better then any other airline in history that has faced a similar situation. You can choose to ignore the entire last decade and again blame everything on DALPA however reality tells a much different story. |

What in the hell? This is important why?????? I think I've clicked on every "it's fine, leave it alone."
The FOM states that the uniform jacket will be worn buttoned at all times. Would you prefer a change to the FOM so that you had the option to wear your uniform jacket either buttoned or unbuttoned? Yes No http://obscureinternet.com/wp-conten...l-Pictures.jpg |

Enough of the a$$less chaps and thongs. The uniform survey is a sleight of hand tactic used by magicians...if you cannot see it for what it is. Do not look at the uniform survey, instead, watch what DALPA is doing with their other hand. |

I'm sitting at the gate in CVG, waiting for my commuter flight. Across the airport, at the GA ramp, is a Southwest 737. Does anyone have any intel on this?
Headed to Vacaville. |

I believe the uniform survey was mandated by a member resolution. In some bases the uniform seems to be a big issue to the pilots.

I'm starting to think of things I wish I had said on the survey.
First, why do we want to look like regional pilots? Second, (I wish I talked more about scope). |

It is and the uniform is not going to change. |

Those increases would raise the pay of a typical housekeeper to $59,823 per year, from $46,337 today, said John Turchiano, a hotel union spokesman.
The proposal would also guarantee that the members continue to receive medical, dental and optical insurance for themselves and their families with no out-of-pocket costs to them, not even co-payments to doctors, Mr. Turchiano said. In addition, the hotel owners would gradually increase their contributions to the members’ pensions to 10.5 percent of total payroll, from 9 percent. Asked what concessions the union made in return, Peter Ward, president of the council, said, “We didn’t give up anything.” |

If it was, and I don't doubt you Sailing, those bases are getting lost in the morass that is a contract negotiation. If you fight every battle to win, you lose the war. Hat vs. pay? Jacket vs. scope? Really?
