White Slip Shenanigans ... what's with a pilot picking up trips, then calling in sick for them? Why White, Green or Yellow Slip, if you are sick? Why put in blank bid preferences like Stevie Wonder going ice fishing?
It screws every one else that was bidding. Particularly if the trip the SWWS fisher - person got was some really ugly early get up, red eye, non commutable bag o' mess, then waits until 12 hours out so that it that nails a reserve who already had his other bid preferences ignored because the slop was in the wrong bucket. So now the ethical dilemma, return the favor with a little sick call action of your own, personal drop and take the hit, or start packing a bag? |
Selling scope to gain scope is a little like this:

What does it cruise at?
What replaced the B-25 in the training role? Because Avgas is expensive, we cruise mostly at 25"/1700 rpm 170-180 mph when in the local area. 27/17 for cross country. 210 MPH is avg. Again a lot depends on the the parasitic drag on the airframe. I fly 3 different B-25 J models and without turrets or guns you can get much better performance. |

Just hope DALPA realizes this contract is Career Critical. DPA may just get a shot if there is anything left.

Very interesting, but means bupkus if'n they cannot pay for 'em. IT still seems to me that all they did was to tie up line slots. Them 737's bargaining chips, that's what they are.
WitchDoctor say Bones Never Lie Nothing really to see here. FWIW the new 739s are running between 40-45M depending on the delivery year, thats an even better deal as the 739 is quite a bit more than the 738. In the last few years, Boeing has been selling jets at discounts exceeding 50%, in fact some 787 were sold for 82M. Basically the majority of early order 787 were all sold below cost to deny Airbus the market. A strategy that ultimately resulted in Airbus killing the 330"NG" and come up with the 350XWB. Boeing expected to make up lots of the money by selling airlines on Gold-care but there were few takers. If it wasn't for the military side, Boeing would be in a terrible world of hurt right now. A reminder at what is at stake is all. Personally, the RJ threat and outsourcing is the tipping point. Where I am at on the list, this is critical. Certainly did not mean to diminish past efforts by anyone senior to me..
