Max reserve changed from ALV to ALV + 15:00. If you worry about bad scope, you better worry about this ALV + 15:00. No Vote. Staff with less pilots and if you don't get cut, you'll fly your butt off.

Any idea/rumor on scope?

I get the impression they want to up sell the good news as much as possible before dropping the bad news.

Yeah. And if that was the good news...

That was troublesome to me also, as was the language about allowing reserves to sell back off days to increase guarantee.

Reserves are already going to lose the 13th X day in July and August if they make them into 30 day months. That will have a large effect on summer staffing as well.

Make no mistake. They are getting ready to run this airline with a lot fewer pilots. And we are going along with it.
I hope there is something very substantial coming our way in return.

What this does is if you are below guarantee they can add a trip that goes up to ALV+15. If you are at or above reserve guarantee for the month, you are done.

The changes do reduce staffing. We have to see the whole package to determine if it is a real reduction or a shuffling of deck chairs.

If that's the case, they've failed miserably. All we've seen with this NN is a whole lot of increased productivity (read less jobs) with no promise of increased compensation. If the NC put this out as an example of great gains made in negotiation then they're either out of touch completely or hopelessly outgunned at the negotiating table.

Seriously, the notepad looks worse every time I reread it.

Unless there is a change to the reserve staffing formula, this will reduce reserves required over time. Those guys working more reserve days must hit the reserves required formula.

Which reduces overall staffing without work rules that greatly increase the number or required line holders. Looks to me like we are going backwards.

The only good news is the pace of negotiations thus far.

If this NN was supposed to be good news...Stand by for an a$$whooping.

Hey management chose to buy an airline that gave us 10 bid categories.... SWA has one... Management choose to be a lot less productive, not me!!!

I have no opinion whatsoever until I see the finished product. People wanted information and they got it. Majority of the people that I talked to ranked scope and compensation as their top priority. There might be improvements to scope which calls for mainline flying to increase...therefore more jobs.
