It's taken a lot to turn my view 180 degrees but ALPA has managed it. The sooner they die, the sooner we can work on effective replacements.
I honestly believe the only way we can build this back into a carreer (and not just a job that sucks us dry) is to switch our bargaining agent, whether it is DPA, CAPA or some other internal organization. I get energized when I hear where CAPA is coming from because it alligns with my own views of what needs to be done. ALPA, not so much. |

Oh really. Care to let a few facts be interjected? Here are the pay raises that have occurred at various airlines since 2008.

I agree with this. If we do not merge with anyone else, I see us as a 7000 pilot workforce in 10 years. I will be at about number 6000. Pretty good. 15 years with the company to get to 6000 out of 7000 pilots during our period of massive retirements. We will have managed to avoid furloughing anyone during that time while our entire narrowbody fleet smaller than the 737-900 is outsourced. This is all speculation of course.
If you are so doom and gloom about your career at Delta then why are you still here. Your post have nothing to do with facts. I would not even call it speculation. |

Very impressive volume. Half the daily average in a third of the day. Daily high within 0.02 of the 52wk high set nearly a year ago I believe. Once it breaks 11.60 the correction will be cataclysmic. Dang speculators.
11:01 AM Strange doing with shares of Delta Air Lines (DAL) after trading is halted after the stock trips up circuit breakers on a relatively timid 1.1% upside move. Over 5M shares of DAL have already been swapped today in early action, although traders are madly tweeting that a fat finger trade could be behind the drama or so they say..... |
Super wild...

Unless I and others have been totally lied to, the only way this agreement comes to the pilots is with growth and some progression, not stagnation and furloughs.
Wait for the darn TA!!!! If we make it through the week without a TA, I will be floored. We will have 60 days; unless there is a pressing reason to shorten the time frame, to to rip it to shreds. |

I'm guessing here but...was this "Presentation" scheduled a long time ago?
Or is this something 'new', ie. the announcement that Delta has signed a T/A with it's pilots, including a 45% raise, purchase of Alaska, and Hawaiian, and AA's South American routes and facilities in MIA, and 80 717's, and 50 777's and a Bazzillion RJ's to be flown by Mainline Pilots? And soon Delta will "Rule the World"! Cue the Doctor Evil laugh track... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5geiIWowtAI&feature=fvst |
